My Son Said He Wanted to Watch History, So I Created a Video Series About Life 30,000 Years Ago
When I asked my son, “What kind of videos do you want to watch?”, his answer was “history.” So I decided to make a history video series tracing the everyday lives of people long ago.
I’ve made playlists in English, Croatian, and Japanese, with 60 episodes each.
English version: How Did People Live Back Then?

Croatian version: Kako su ljudi živjeli nekad?

Japanese version: 昔の人、どう暮らしてた?

A richer feel by combining live-action-style and anime-style visuals
For the videos, I generated live-action-style images with ChatGPT Image and turned them into videos with MiniMax H3. I also created the anime-style still images that appear here and there with Qwen Image 2.1, then combined them all.
Rather than relying entirely on live-action-style footage, using anime-style images as accents made the result feel richer than I had expected.
Reached triple-digit views right after release
It seems I may have found a bit of demand.
Until now, many of my videos got single-digit views, or double digits at best. This time, though, it reached triple digits right after release. Maybe the thumbnail worked well. The channel is also steadily gaining about five subscribers a day.
It really is nice to see the numbers respond like that.
By the way, the son who inspired this series watched for about three seconds...
