KEN’S CAT LOG

A 360° Product Rotation System for Web Shops Using MinimaxH3

I tried creating a 360° product-viewing experience for web shops using MinimaxH3.

Rather than using a 3D model, I made it look like an actual person is wearing the garment. This makes it easier to convey the feel and silhouette of the clothing when worn, creating a more realistic impression.

I provided front and back images of the garment as references, then generated video while preserving as much detail as possible on each side. The key is that it naturally rotates into view while retaining the garment’s distinctive features.

Turning product images into a more informative experience

This helps convey the dimensionality of the clothing and the feel of wearing it—things that still images in a web shop alone cannot fully communicate.

Even a small amount of movement makes it easier to imagine what the item would look like when actually worn. Compared with photos alone, I think this presentation lets people experience the material and silhouette more realistically.

All that is needed is an image of the garment. The subsequent generation process can then proceed automatically.

Adding the fun of exploring by dragging

I created an experience that users can explore by dragging with a mouse or finger. They can control it themselves to check the front, back, and changes in angle.

Instead of simply looking at the item, the time spent viewing a product becomes a little more enjoyable. That was the experience I aimed to create.
