Daily Google Play Report 2026-10-25
Watch faces are on the move. “Wave: Wear OS watch face” from the watchfacestudio ecosystem debuted at #7 in GB and rose +25 to #12 in the US. android-watch-face has the lowest top-10 retention rate among 35 categories, at 82%.
New Entries
First, let’s look at apps that entered multiple countries at the same time. Mici - Call & Meet (android-social/free) entered three countries simultaneously (HR #33, DE #41, GB #43). Color Block: Combo Blast (android-game/free) also appeared in three countries: JP #43, US #44, and KR #45. Among watch faces, Wave (GB #7, KR #31), Digital Informer (GB #8, DE #15), Ballozi SKYNOX (GB #15, DE #27), Swift (US #15, HR #20), and Radar (GB #16, DE #25) entered two countries at the same time. In the upper ranks of individual charts, PDFMaster (DE tools #1) and RadarScope (US weather paid #1) stand out. In HR’s android-business/free chart, logistics and business apps including BOX NOW #1, Moja Croatia #3, and myDPD #5 entered the top 10 all at once.
Major Monthly Gains
The reference date is 2026-09-25 (30 days ago). It is the oldest collection date in the archive, so there is not yet a full month of data. The biggest gainers were Monopoly Events App (GB events #6, +39), GPS Location Tracker Plus (US #5, +38), Demon Castle Story (KR paid #7, +38), and Trump Accounts (US finance #5, +37). In US maps-and-navigation, three location-tracking apps rose together. Apps that were absent from the chart on the reference date and are now at #1 include Reddice Classic Analog M1 (DE and GB), MUJI アプリ (JP), and Muse from Meta (JP productivity).
Trends by Rank Tier
The top tier (ranks 1–10) is almost unchanged, with held at 93%, new at 1%, and |Δ| at 0.7. The middle tier has held at 88% and |Δ| at 2.1. The lower tier (ranks 31–45) has held at 76%, new at 13%, and |Δ| at 2.7, where most turnover is occurring. Because the developer field is empty, it is not possible to determine whether a small number of developers dominate the upper ranks.
Trends by Country
HR had the most new entries, with 140. The US had the highest top-10 retention rate at 95%. In JP, only 43 of 50 charts could be compared with the previous run. Apps in the top 10 across multiple countries include WhatsApp, Canva, Duolingo, ChatGPT, Spotify, and Google Flow (ranked #1 in JP and KR); all are in the top 10 in all six countries. There are also country-specific movements: marathon-related apps in JP and DE (R-navi +17, Mainova Frankfurt Marathon +20), and cricket streaming apps in HR.
Trends by Category
Categories with many new entries were social (38), game (35), business (34), and personalization (31). Categories with substantial top-10 turnover were watch-face (82% retention), sports (85%), and personalization (86%). By contrast, medical and video-players (both 98%) barely moved. In tools, several PDF apps rose across multiple countries at the same time.
Key Findings
1. New watch faces entered the upper ranks in multiple countries simultaneously
Wave debuted at GB #7 and KR #31. In the US, where it was already charting, it rose +25 to #12, and in DE it rose +13 to #6. Digital Informer (GB #8, DE #15), Radar (GB #16, DE #25), Ballozi SKYNOX (GB #15, DE #27), and Swift (US #15, HR #20) also appeared simultaneously in two countries. android-watch-face had 25 new entries and an 82% top-10 retention rate, making it the category with the most turnover overall.
Confidence: High
2. Mici - Call & Meet appeared in social charts across three European countries on the same day
In android-social/free, it entered HR #33, DE #41, and GB #43 on the same day. Its ranks are still low, but simultaneous entry into three markets is the earliest trend signal in today’s data. android-social had 38 new entries, the most of any category.
Confidence: Medium
3. PDF tools are rising simultaneously in DE, KR, and JP
PDFMaster debuted at #1 in DE tools. In KR, PDF Reader App (productivity) rose +30 to #14, while PDF Reader & PDF Viewer rose +18 to #23. KR’s PDF Editor & PDF Reader rose +34 from the reference date to #7, and JP’s PDFReader: View & Edit PDFs rose +27 from the reference date to #9. In JP, PDF File Reader also debuted at #10 in productivity.
Confidence: High
4. Survivor: Ace entered the upper ranks in games simultaneously in JP and KR
It debuted at #5 in JP’s android-game/free chart. In KR, it was already on the chart and rose +26 to #6. This puts it in the top 10 in both Asian markets on the same day.
Confidence: High
5. Location-tracking apps rose sharply in the US over 30 days
In maps-and-navigation, GPS Location Tracker Plus rose +38 to #5, GPS Location Tracker Ultra rose +32 to #10, and GPS Maps & Voice Directions rose +31 to #14. In HR, Track Any Phone also rose +30 to #15. The comparison period is the 30 days since the reference date, 2026-09-25.
Confidence: Medium
6. Marathon-related event apps rose in JP and DE
In DE, Mainova Frankfurt Marathon rose +20 from the previous run to #6. In JP, R-navi rose +17 to #4, while いまどこ+(どこプラ) debuted at #6 in events. This appears to be temporary demand tied to event schedules, and rankings may fall within a few days.
Confidence: Medium
7. New logistics and business entries concentrated at the top of HR’s business chart
BOX NOW ranked #1, Moja Croatia #3, myDPD #5, METRO Companion #7, GLS Croatia #8, and mer #9. All were new entries, with six apps entering one chart’s top 10 at once. android-business had 34 new entries, while HR had the most among countries at 140. The chart itself may have been reshuffled, so it is necessary to confirm whether the same apps remain the next day.
Confidence: Low
8. The upper ranks are stable, while turnover is concentrated in the lower ranks
Ranks 1–10 had held at 93%, new at 1%, and |Δ| at 0.7. Ranks 11–30 had held at 88%, new at 2%, and |Δ| at 2.1, while ranks 31–45 had held at 76%, new at 13%, and |Δ| at 2.7. To identify new movements early, it is effective to watch new entries in ranks 31–45. Since the developer field is missing, it is not possible to assess whether particular developers dominate the upper ranks.
Confidence: High
9. Major mainstream apps are in the top 10 in all six countries
Canva (DE #1, #2–#3 in the other countries), Duolingo (DE, GB, JP, and KR #1), ChatGPT (DE, GB, and KR #1), Google Flow (JP and KR #1), and Meowdoku (DE, GB, and HR #1) are in the top 10 in all six countries. Upper ranks barely moved in the US (95% retention) and DE (94%).
Confidence: High
10. Apps absent on the reference date that are now #1
Reddice Classic Analog M1 is #1 in watch-face in both DE and GB. In JP, MUJI アプリ became #1 in lifestyle and Muse from Meta became #1 in productivity. DE’s ImmoScout24 is #1 in travel-and-local grossing, but DE TOP_GROSSING data is unstable across many categories and should be interpreted cautiously.
Confidence: Medium
11. Categories that are not moving: medical and video-players
android-medical and android-video-players both have a 98% top-10 retention rate. However, video-players had 21 new entries, and IPTV-related apps are rising in the middle ranks, including StreamTV in HR (+22 to #8) and StreamHub in the US (+19 to #22). The top ranks remain fixed while turnover occurs in the middle.
Confidence: Medium
Recommended Actions
- Make Wear OS watch faces today’s main topic. Wave debuted in two countries and rose +25 in the US and +13 in DE. Reddice was absent from the chart on the reference date and is now #1 in both DE and GB. An article or video comparing these two would work well.
- PDF tools are rising in multiple countries simultaneously. Combine PDFMaster (DE #1) with the gains in KR and JP to create a short article on “Why PDF apps now?”
- Track whether Mici - Call & Meet (simultaneous entry in three countries) and Color Block: Combo Blast (simultaneous entry in JP, US, and KR) remain in the lower ranks tomorrow or climb higher. If they continue rising, cover them as breaking news.
- Survivor: Ace at JP #5 and KR #6 can be used immediately as a game-introduction topic.
- Hold off on articles about the six simultaneous changes in HR business and new DE grossing entries until the next day’s data confirms that the same lineup persists.
- Marathon-related apps (Frankfurt, R-navi, どこプラ) are temporary moves tied to events. If covering them, publish the same day and do not treat them as sustained trends.
Data Quality Notes
Of 400 target charts, 361 charts (13,156 rows) were retrieved, while 39 charts could not be retrieved. Of these, 331 charts could be compared with the previous run (2026-10-24); for the remaining 30 charts, neither rank changes nor new entries were calculated because no prior collection was available. By country, only 43 of 50 charts in JP and 68 of 77 charts in the US could be compared. Five recent runs completed only partially, and 27 retrievals failed. In DE, TOP_GROSSING was identified as an unstable data source in 18 categories, so interpret new DE grossing entries (such as Investing.com #4 and getquin #8) and ImmoScout24 at #1 with lower confidence. In GB, JP, KR, and the US, grossing/paid data for key categories including game and tools is also unstable. The monthly reference date, 2026-09-25, is the oldest collection date in the archive, so there is not yet a full month of data. The developer and ratingCount fields are missing values in 66,928 records, and the rating field is missing values in 1,229 records. Therefore, developer-level concentration has not been assessed.
