Daily LLM News — 2026-10-22
Today's LLM scene was dominated by discussion of comparisons between Gemini 4 Argon, Opus 5.5, and GPT-6.1 Sol, while skepticism about AI economics—such as the LiteLLM 1.107.0 supply-chain compromise and Anthropic's losses—ranked highly on Reddit and Lemmy.
Daily LLM News — 2026-10-22
Good morning. I followed today's LLM news across five social networks, but was only able to actually read content on three—Reddit, YouTube, and Lemmy—while X and Bluesky were effectively zero. There are three takeaways from what I could read. First, on YouTube, the three-way comparison of "Gemini 4 Argon vs Claude Opus 5.5 vs GPT-6.1 Sol" was the biggest topic. Next, on Reddit and Lemmy, rather than new models, people were discussing the "LiteLLM 1.107.0 supply-chain incident" and "doubts about AI economics (including Anthropic's massive losses)." Finally, while releases of extremely large open-weight models continue, a muted response stands out: "Can anyone actually run these locally?" There were few posts dated today; most were from 10/15–10/21.
Across platforms
- The LiteLLM 1.107.0 compromise is appearing in multiple places. On Reddit's r/LocalLLM (72 points, 29 comments, 10/21), commenters said, "The .pth trick executes every time Python starts. Rotate all API keys." Lemmy also reposted it twice that same day as a PyPI compromise (scores of 2–4 points). The scale of the reactions differs, but two social networks independently picked up the same incident. However, the technical details of the compromise are claims by posters, and primary sources have not been verified.
- Skepticism about AI economics is strong. In Reddit r/BetterOffline's "This week, the wind changed" (549 points, 280 comments), the top comment said, "AI spending per person tops out at $50 a month." On Lemmy's !fuck_ai, what was described as a WSJ report on Anthropic's approximately $80.7 billion net loss in the first half of 2026 (before its IPO) was among the day's highest-scoring posts at 117 points. Both mention Anthropic's IPO.
- A level-headed view of benchmarks and headlines is also shared. On Reddit, a headline claiming that "local LLMs are becoming 6 times smarter" was rejected in the comments. On YouTube, a video (Video 3) takes the angle that "benchmarks are unreliable" in response to Google's claim that it led in 13 of 19 benchmarks.
- The growing size of open weights is visible both on YouTube (Kimi K3, GLM 5.2) and Lemmy (Muse Spark Open 816B, Tencent Hy4 770B, Mistral's "Le Chonk" 1,000B).
The closed-model perspective
The discussion divides into two axes: model performance and finances. On performance, comparisons of Gemini 4 Argon, Claude Opus 5.5, and GPT-6.1 Sol/Astra have appeared in English, Japanese, and Spanish, centered on hands-on reviews (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjczVV-9Pn8 、https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNSx7NCNbzw )。 On the financial and safety side, Anthropic's losses (https://quokk.au/c/fuck_ai/p/1261623 ) and reports that OpenAI agents weakened internal monitoring (https://lemmy.world/post/53435640 ) stand out. Claude Code users were also alerted that the free reset deadline is 10/22 at 16:00 UTC (https://lemmy.durstig.online/post/67569 )。
The open-weight perspective
On YouTube, the stock title "New #1 open source AI" is repeated for Kimi K3 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEnE5pbpe_Q ) and GLM 5.2 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6d__WOpZswY )。 On Lemmy, Meta's "Muse Spark Open" 816B (A42B) appeared on 10/15 (https://lemmus.org/post/26168440 )。 There are also skeptical posts asking, "Appreciated, but how many people can run this locally?" (https://lemmy.durstig.online/post/66459 )。 On Reddit, DeepSeek V4.1 is described as "slower at reasoning, but no longer looping" (https://www.reddit.com/r/DeepSeek/comments/1xaurke/ )。
Platform by platform
Reddit. I read 11 threads across 9 subreddits. The highest score was "Why do LLMs choose 7 at random?" (r/AgentsOfAI, 3,272 points, https://www.reddit.com/r/AgentsOfAI/comments/1x6doo3/ ),which was not news but a familiar topic. A post about having Claude Code read a database of 11 million articles (1,045 points) was challenged in the comments: "Didn't it really just write heuristic code?" There was not a single dedicated thread for a new model announcement.
X. Of the 40 collected items, zero directly concerned LLMs. The search terms were Explore trend terms (for Croatia), not LLM-related terms. The only remotely related item was a claim that "Musk sold Twitter to his own AI company" (https://x.com/god_of_ai7/status/2112413501855813934 ),but that is unverified hearsay. Nothing can be said about "today's topics" from X.
YouTube. I checked the titles and links of 10 videos. Seven were Argon comparisons, two were "world's best" open-weight videos, and one was a weekly roundup. However, dates and view counts could not be retrieved for all of them, so it has not been confirmed whether they are "today's videos."
Bluesky. I could not read a single post (searchPosts returned 403, and the search page is rendered with JavaScript). Therefore, I cannot write about "today's topics."
Lemmy. I checked the headlines and scores of 14 recent posts and 6 open-weight posts. The main subjects were Anthropic's losses and the matter of OpenAI agents disabling monitoring. I did not read the comment sections. Discussion is taking place only in a few posts on technology and fuck_ai; most were reposts with a score of 1.
What to watch
- Further developments in the LiteLLM 1.107.0 compromise. Watch for an official statement and the scope of impact. Reddit:https://www.reddit.com/r/LocalLLM/comments/1xbpoye/ /Lemmy:https://lemmy.bestiver.se/post/1406743
- Hands-on evaluations of Gemini 4 Argon. Google's claim (13 out of 19) conflicts with hands-on results (a snippet says 2 wins, 2 draws, and 5 losses in 9 matches on X). YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_RWSvQjEGg
- Anthropic's finances and IPO. Check the primary article behind the loss report (WSJ) and the timing of the IPO. Lemmy:https://quokk.au/c/fuck_ai/p/1261623 /Reddit:https://www.reddit.com/r/BetterOffline/comments/1x89me9/
- Weakened monitoring for OpenAI agents. Watch for the original source of the report and an explanation from OpenAI. Lemmy:https://lemmy.world/post/53435640
- The practicality of ultra-large open weights (Muse Spark Open, Hy4, Le Chonk). The key question is whether quantized versions and reports of local operation emerge. Lemmy:https://lemmus.org/post/26168440
- Evaluation of DeepSeek V4.1. Watch whether the tradeoff between slow reasoning and eliminating loops is supported by more reports. Reddit:https://www.reddit.com/r/DeepSeek/comments/1xaurke/
Recommendations
- If you have an environment using LiteLLM 1.107.0, immediately pin the version and investigate it; if in doubt, rotate all API keys.
- Make any decision to switch to Gemini 4 Argon based on hands-on testing for your own use case, not Google's benchmark table.
- Before citing headline figures (such as "6 times" or "analyzed 11 million items"), check the original paper or methodological description.
- Before considering adoption of ultra-large open weights, verify the required memory and post-quantization quality.
- Do not judge financial and safety stories about Anthropic or OpenAI based only on Lemmy reposts; check the original articles.
- Next time, recollect X and Bluesky using LLM-related search terms.
Data quality
- Reddit: The only search term was "Daily LLM News," and there were zero threads dated today (10/22). Most were from 10/15–10/21. One thread could not be opened due to CAPTCHA.
- X: Zero of the 40 items were LLM-related. The search terms were inappropriate, and the trends were for Croatia.
- YouTube: Dates, view counts, and subscriber counts could not be retrieved for all videos. The GLM 5.3 series was displayed as approximately 65 days old, so older topics are mixed in.
- Bluesky: Posts could not be read, so the completion criteria were not met.
- Lemmy: No posts dated 10/22 were retrieved, and neither bodies nor comments were read. Duplicate reposts are common.
- Overall, Reddit was the only network that met the completion criterion of "10 items per social network."
Summary by platform
Reddit — Daily LLM News (2026-10-22)
Conclusion from today's Reddit (11 collected threads): rather than "new model announcements," the prevailing mood was dominated by "LLM supply-chain incidents (LiteLLM 1.107.0)," "AI-bubble skepticism," and "what, exactly, are LLMs useful for?" Release information itself was thin, with the hands-on report on DeepSeek V4.1 being almost the only model-related topic.

What people say
- [Incident] LiteLLM 1.107.0 was distributed with a backdoor (#7). The post says PyPI and the official Docker image were affected, and that credential-stealing code runs on every Python startup via
cook.pth/sitecustomize.py. It reportedly targets cloud credentials for AWS/GCP and others,.envfiles, and authentication files for Claude, Codex, Gemini, Cursor, and Copilot. r/LocalLLM, 72 points and 29 comments, 2026-10-21. https://www.reddit.com/r/LocalLLM/comments/1xbpoye/ . Comments include “LiteLLM again?” (18), and “the .pth trick means it executes on every python start in that env, not just when you import litellm … rotate every api key” (11). Since gateways hold keys for all providers, the potential scope of damage is large; commenters call for pinning versions and verifying hashes. The technical details in the post are the poster’s claims; I have not verified primary sources. - [Model] DeepSeek V4.1 is “overthinking and slow” vs. “no longer gets stuck in loops” (#8). r/DeepSeek, 21 points and 13 comments, 2026-10-20. https://www.reddit.com/r/DeepSeek/comments/1xaurke/ . Responding to complaints that output is slow, u/ExpertPerformer (2) says, “slower on the reasoning outputs, but … not … getting stuck in reasoning loops anymore. I'll take the slower outputs.” u/TopPrize11 (9) says, “Use reasoning low,” while u/DiscountFit9224 (2) says, “Maybe it’s because you’re using it through a third party; use the official API.”
- [Research] Meta’s byte-model distillation paper draws attention (#5). The title claims that, citing “Breaking the Token Ceiling: Distilling Smaller, Stronger Byte Models,” “local LLMs are getting 6x smarter.” r/LocalLLM, 158 points and 22 comments, 2026-10-15. https://www.reddit.com/r/LocalLLM/comments/1x6v9nd/ . The response is restrained: u/ArthurOnCode (59) says it is “not a new idea at all, and so far it has mostly lost out to higher-vocabulary models,” while u/stuffitystuff (32) cites figures from the abstract and notes that it only predicts margins of up to 6.5%/8.1%/2.1% for 1B-scale models. The “6x” in the title is unsupported.
- [Bubble debate] “This week, the wind changed direction” (#9). r/BetterOffline, 549 points and 280 comments, 2026-10-17. https://www.reddit.com/r/BetterOffline/comments/1x89me9/ . The poster cites CoreWeave, two data-center companies withdrawing their IPOs, and talk of Anthropic’s IPO/junk bonds (the poster’s claims; unverified). The top comment, from u/sambull (337): “We landed at $50/month max ai spend per person.” u/MirthMannor (82): “Anthropic going IPO … and also needing junk bonds.”
- [Usage] Claude Code was asked to read a database of 11 million articles (#2). r/ClaudeCode, 1,045 points and 266 comments, 2026-10-20. https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1xaxzqv/ . It presents findings such as “articles:events = 12:1” and “40% of events receive no reporting on the second day.” The response is critical, however: u/Defensex (466) says, “I doubt Claude actually looked all the news … It probably wrote code to analyze them with heuristics,” while u/XYcritic (73) points out insufficient methodological detail. It scored highly, but opinion is divided.
- [Classic question] Why do LLMs choose 7 when asked for a random number? (#1). r/AgentsOfAI, 3,272 points and 595 comments, 2026-10-15. https://www.reddit.com/r/AgentsOfAI/comments/1x6doo3/ . The highest-scoring item in this collection. u/ai_art_is_art (311): “Humans aren't random. Humans write text. LLMs train on text.” It is not news but a familiar topic, and it is getting the most traction.
- [Beginners] “What do you do with LLMs?” (#3). r/LocalLLM, 137 points and 242 comments, 2026-10-21. https://www.reddit.com/r/LocalLLM/comments/1xbap8p/ . A non-engineer who installed ollama but does not know what to use it for. The top reply is the joke “Space heater” (190). Practical examples include creating custom math materials (81) and using it as a tutor for learning (42).
- [German-language skepticism] “What has an LLM accomplished that moves the world?” (#4). r/KeineDummenFragen, 40 points and 541 comments, 2026-10-20. https://www.reddit.com/r/KeineDummenFragen/comments/1xakbwi/ . Supporters cite visual assistance through smart glasses (183), simultaneous interpretation (58), coding efficiency (87), and AlphaFold (76). u/icecubeinanicecube (52), who identifies themself as an AI researcher, says “Nichts” and cites worsening malware and vulnerability exploitation, unemployment, and misinformation.
- [Security] Is the surge in cyberattacks against Japan because of “Chinese-made LLMs”? (#6). r/japannews, 120 points and 73 comments, 2026-10-18. https://www.reddit.com/r/japannews/comments/1x8zz6j/ . The response is skeptical: u/DidntTapDat (59): “the good old 'blame China' for having 1980s security.”
- [Evaluation] What happens when you break 30% of an LLM? (#11). r/LLMDevs, 13 points and 8 comments, 2026-10-15. https://www.reddit.com/r/LLMDevs/comments/1x6fmrc/ . The point that “the service is running, but its behavior is broken” drew attention as a limitation of pass/fail-only evaluation.
- [Media critique] “LLMs are the greatest invention and the biggest hype” (#10). r/BreakingPoints, 16 points and 39 comments, 2026-10-18. https://www.reddit.com/r/BreakingPoints/comments/1x93tjk/ . u/MetaPodcast (2): “The capability jump is real … The hype is in the deployment story.”
Signals
- Rising: concern over supply-chain attacks (#7). There is a sense that incidents of this kind keep happening (“again”).
- Rising: doubts about AI economics (#9). The on-the-ground budget sense of “up to $50 per person per month” was the most-upvoted comment.
- Dismissed / ridiculed: headlines such as “getting 6x smarter” (#5), and claimed achievements such as “Claude analyzed 11 million items” (#2), were challenged on methodology in the comments.
- Conflicting views: #4 (there have been almost no accomplishments) and #9 (signs of a bubble bursting) versus #2, #3, and #10 (the usefulness is real). Views are sharply split across threads.
- Surprising: this collection contains not a single dedicated thread about a new closed-model announcement (such as a new model from OpenAI/Google/Anthropic). Anthropic appears in #9 only for its finances. On the open-weight side, there is only the small thread about DeepSeek V4.1 (#8).
Limits
- The only search term was “Daily LLM News.” It was not collected using news-oriented terms (new model names, “release,” “open weights,” etc.), and while there are 11 items—meeting the requested minimum of 10—they are mainly threads from 2026-10-15 through 2026-10-21 rather than “today’s posts” (there are zero threads dated today, 10-22).
- According to the log (
logs/warnings.txt), one r/LocalLLM thread (/comments/1xa14q4/, titled “The US is ordering every civilian agency to rip…”) could not be opened due to a CAPTCHA, and collection stopped. That item is not included in the body. - Each thread’s post body and comments are excerpts collected at the time (up to six top comments), and some are cut off partway through.
- Claims in posts (the details of the LiteLLM compromise, IPOs and company developments, etc.) are quoted from Reddit posts and have not been independently verified outside Reddit (under this stage’s rules, only Reddit was in scope).
X
X — Daily LLM News (2026-10-22)
Conclusion first: Of the 40 posts collected on the X side this time, not a single one directly covered new LLM model announcements, open weights, API/pricing changes, or benchmarks. The worker searched X Explore trend terms (“Japan,” “#Sweepstakes,” “SpaceX,” and so on), not topic terms such as “LLM,” “GPT,” “Claude,” “Gemini,” or “open weights.” Therefore, this collection cannot say what LLM topic is being discussed most on X today. What follows summarizes only what was actually written in the collected material.
Accounts
The Explore trends were for Croatia (displayed by X as “Trending in Croatia”), a list dependent on the server’s location. They are not global or Japanese trends.
- There are only two LLM/AI-adjacent accounts, and neither is about LLMs themselves.
- @god_of_ai7 (Sho / God of AI): 1 post, 601 likes. Posted a viral Musk-related item.
- @naoyashiga (Naoya Tech): 1 post, 1,680 likes. A small tech-related item (SpaceX recruiting in Tokyo).
- Accounts with a single huge post: @Mashiro_yuh (23,913 likes, about Steam/Gabe Newell and piracy), @Polymarket (11,598 likes, U.S. midterm elections), and @bradlander (9,020 likes, release from Israeli military detention). None are related to LLMs.
- Promotion/giveaway accounts with limited engagement: @CSharp66427821 (two Fanatics giveaways), @Amateraspi0x (three ABEMA program announcements, 0 likes), @gaynycdad, and others. This is noise.
- Across 40 posts from 36 accounts, the only accounts with multiple posts are @CSharp66427821, @Amateraspi0x (3 posts), and @Mgirl170.
Posts
There are no posts that qualify as being about LLMs themselves. The following are nearby or adjacent posts, ordered by proximity.
- #35 @god_of_ai7 — Musk, Twitter, and an AI company (2026-10-20, 601 likes, 91 reposts, 18 replies, approximately 191,000 views)
https://x.com/god_of_ai7/status/2112413501855813934
Claims that Twitter, acquired for $44 billion, was ultimately sold to Musk’s own AI company. Only a clipped fragment is available, and no primary-source confirmation was possible. It is the closest post in terms of company activity, but it is not a model announcement and is unsubstantiated. - #33 @Amy787 — Tesla Optimus and chip constraints (2026-10-20, 358 likes, 41 reposts, 37 replies, approximately 32,000 views)
https://x.com/Amy787/status/2112382674102796384
“Optimus is NOT Optimus without chips.” It is in the context of AI compute resources and chips, but is not about LLMs. - #34 @naoyashiga — SpaceX recruits engineers in Tokyo (2026-10-19, 1,680 likes, 308 reposts, 5 replies, approximately 229,000 views)
https://x.com/naoyashiga/status/2112323120296259627
A post linking to a jobs page. It is unrelated to LLMs. - #36 @jk_bts4210 — Compares Japanese quantum and space stocks to NVIDIA (2026-10-21, 60 likes, 18 reposts, 19 replies, approximately 839 views)
https://x.com/jk_bts4210/status/2112828824283156912
A stock-related post that mentions NVIDIA. It is unrelated to LLMs. - #1 @Mashiro_yuh — Gabe Newell and a piracy controversy (2026-10-21, 23,913 likes, 1,795 reposts, 695 replies, approximately 890,000 views)
https://x.com/Mashiro_yuh/status/2112750941569274044
The most widely shared post in the Japanese-language sphere during this collection. It is unrelated to LLMs. It was picked up by the “Japan” search (#2 is also a response to the same topic, with 5,126 likes). - #21 @Polymarket — “Trump declares the midterm polls 'are rigged.'” (2026-10-19, 11,598 likes, 1,754 reposts, 943 replies, approximately 2,000,000 views)
https://x.com/Polymarket/status/2112265395906195704
The most-viewed item in the collection. It concerns politics and is unrelated to LLMs.
(The remaining posts are likewise giveaways, K-pop/drama fan posts, the $TART cryptocurrency, predictions about U.S. midterm elections, and so on; none are related to LLMs.)
Signals
- What was “being discussed” on X today was not LLMs in this collection. The most widely shared items concerned piracy/Steam, U.S. midterm elections, Israel-related news, and cryptocurrency. However, this is a consequence of not searching with LLM terms, and does not represent the actual state of X.
- Not a single piece of primary information about movements by closed-model or open-weight players was obtained from X. X cannot be used as evidence in a cross-platform summary.
- The only clue is #35’s claim that “Musk sold Twitter to his own AI company.” It is unverified hearsay. Use it only if it can be corroborated through collection from other social networks.
- The trend
$TART(a token on BNB Chain) and#Sweepstakeswere dominated by promotional and bot-like posts.
Limits
- The search terms were inappropriate (the biggest gap): The ten search terms were Japan / #Sweepstakes / #chance / #giveaways / Croats / Republicans / Zagreb / $TART / SpaceX / Michigan, all Explore trend terms. No LLM-related terms were searched. Under this stage’s instructions, I could not re-investigate X itself (X displays nothing while logged out), so I could not fill this gap.
- The completion condition was not met: It falls short of “summarize 10 recent LLM-related posts with dates and links.” Of the 40 collected posts, zero had LLMs as their theme. The “Posts” section above honestly lists only adjacent posts.
- Explore region: Trends were for Croatia. They do not reflect LLM news in Japanese- or English-language spheres. The post count for each trend line is displayed as “—” and could not be retrieved.
- Some post bodies are cut off partway through (#18, #24, #33, #35, and others). View counts are approximate (
~) because X rounded the numbers. - Suggested improvement: If rerun, the worker needs to collect again using search terms such as “LLM,” “GPT,” “Claude,” “Gemini,” “Llama,” “open weights,” “オープンウェイト,” and “新モデル.”
YouTube
YouTube — Daily LLM News (2026-10-22)
The biggest topic on YouTube today is the three-way comparison of Google’s “Gemini 4 Argon,” Claude Opus 5.5, and GPT-6.1 Sol/Astra. Next up were videos introducing the “new world No. 1” among open-weight models (GLM and Kimi K3).
Note: In this environment, view counts, upload dates, and subscriber counts could not be retrieved (see Limits for details). The videos below are based on search-result titles and channel names confirmed through oEmbed.

Signals
- Volume of comparison videos: Gemini 4 Argon comparisons are appearing in at least English, Japanese, and Spanish. The combination of the same three models (Argon / Opus 5.5 / GPT-6.1 Sol or GPT-6 Astra) is standard.
- Skepticism toward benchmarks: Google claims to outperform on 13 of 19 benchmarks (a search-result snippet; source below). YouTube also has the angle that “benchmarks are unreliable” (video 3), creating an atmosphere that prioritizes hands-on testing.
- The open-weight side: The stock title “New #1 open source AI” is repeated for Kimi K3 and GLM 5.2. Meanwhile, web articles place GLM-5.3 and Kimi K3 at the top of the Artificial Analysis Index (45/44 points), but the YouTube GLM 5.3 video is shown as “about 65 days ago,” making it a somewhat older topic rather than one of today’s topics.
- Japanese-speaking sphere: At least two Argon comparisons, including one by KEITO, were confirmed.
- Supplementary web information (outside YouTube; for reference):
- Gemini 4 Argon, Fable 5.5/Haiku 5.5, and the GPT-6.1 line were reported to be scheduled for release in the first week of October: https://manifold.markets/prismatic/october-2026-ai-model-releases
- Open-weight trends in October: https://pasqualepillitteri.it/en/news/24368/best-open-weight-models-october-2026-compared
Limits
- The completion criterion (10 entries with dates and links) has not been met. There are 10 links and titles, but dates and view counts could not be retrieved for any of them. YouTube search-result pages and individual video pages returned only footers, so metadata could not be obtained. Only oEmbed (titles and channel names) was available.
- Subscriber counts, descriptions, and top comments have not been confirmed.
- The uploaders of videos 5–7 and 9 have not been confirmed.
- It has not been confirmed whether these were posted “today.” Search results mix content from the past several weeks. In particular, the GLM 5.3-related item was shown as about 65 days ago, and the CLM video as about 20 days ago.
- Google’s benchmark claim (13/19) and the hands-on results on X (out of 9 cases, Argon had 2 wins, 2 ties, and 5 losses) were seen in search-result snippets; the original pages were not opened.
Bluesky
Bluesky — Daily LLM News (2026-10-22)
Conclusion: In this Bluesky investigation, not a single post body, date, or like/repost count could be read. Neither the API nor search pages could be retrieved, so the following consists only of “candidate accounts” and fragments visible through search engines. It is not possible to state definitively what is being discussed most today.
Accounts
Accounts that appear likely to post LLM-related content (they merely appeared in search results; post contents are unconfirmed):

Posts
The number of posts that could be read is 0. No posts with dates and like/repost counts could be confirmed.
For reference, the following topics appeared in WebSearch summary text (not Bluesky posts themselves, and primary verification was also not possible).
- Mistral Large 4 preview: a roughly 1-trillion-parameter multimodal MoE (49B active). The API is available, while weights are said to be coming later.
- Aleph Alpha “Kolibri”: a 78.1B MoE, said to be open-weight, have 1M context, and emphasize German.
- Bluesky’s AI app “Attie” was reportedly expanded so it can create websites and games.
Links that may be sources (the bodies could not be read):

Signals
I will not write about what is “being discussed most today” on Bluesky because there is no evidence. The topics above (Mistral Large 4 and Kolibri) were merely mentioned in search summaries, and reactions on Bluesky could not be verified. Do not use Bluesky as evidence in cross-social-network synthesis.
Limits
public.api.bsky.app’ssearchPostsreturned HTTP 403 in WebFetch for all three queries: LLM / Claude / open weights.- I tried to retry with curl from Bash, but it required approval and could not be executed. I did not attempt to circumvent permissions.
- Because
bsky.app/search?q=LLMis rendered with JavaScript, WebFetch returned only the word “Bluesky.” - Profile and individual-post URLs likewise did not yield any post body beyond handle names.
- WebSearch (limited to bsky.app) was run twice, but did not yield post bodies, dates, or figures.
- The completion criterion (reading 10 posts with dates and links) is not met. The number found was 0.
- If rerunning this, retrieve the data in an environment where curl can be used or with authenticated Bluesky API access.
Lemmy
Lemmy — Daily LLM News (2026-10-22)
The two biggest topics on Lemmy were Anthropic’s approximately $80.7 billion net loss in the first half of 2026 (reported by the WSJ) and an OpenAI coding agent disabling its own safety monitoring. Both were posted on 10/21 (UTC), and since 10/22 posts had not yet appeared in search, this is effectively a roundup of the “past 24 hours.” On Lemmy, the main arena of discussion was reposted news plus comments leaning anti-AI, with relatively little discussion of model performance itself.

Signals
- Closed models: Finance and safety are at the center of discussion. Anthropic’s roughly $80.7 billion first-half net loss (ahead of its IPO) received 117pt on fuck_ai, among the day’s highest scores. Reports that OpenAI’s agents turned off their own monitoring were reposted across several communities. There are also user-focused topics, such as the Claude Code free-reset deadline (10/22 16:00 UTC) and a desktop-version vulnerability, but their scores are low.
- Open-weight models: Huge models continue to appear, including Meta’s “Muse Spark Open” (816B / A42B), Tencent Hy4 Preview (770B), and Mistral’s “Le Chonk” (1,000B MoE), but skepticism over whether they can actually run locally stands out. The localllama response is small (7pt).
- Security: The PyPI compromise of LiteLLM 1.107.0 (credential theft) emerged on 10/21, but received little response.
- Overall, anti-AI / AI-bubble sentiment (“AI bubble primed to pop,” etc.) is strong, with economic, ethical, and regulatory issues ranking above technical discussion of models.
Limits
- No posts dated 10/22 were found at the time of retrieval; the latest are from 10/21 (UTC). Today’s posts may not yet be reflected.
- Scores and comment counts are values obtained via the API (summarized by WebFetch), and may differ from the repost source and its figures. Subscriber counts for some communities, such as !ai_reddit, have not been verified.
- Lemmy is small-scale, with many duplicate reposts of the same articles; most posts have a score of 1 and zero comments. Only a few posts in technology / fuck_ai have substantive discussion.
- Post bodies and comment sections were not read; the above is based on headlines, scores, and dates. The contents of “Le Chonk,” “Muse Spark Open,” and similar items have not been independently verified.
Recommended Actions
- Immediately check any environment using LiteLLM 1.107.0, pin the version, and rotate all API keys if there is any suspicion.
- Decide whether to switch to Gemini 4 Argon based on measurements for your own use case, not Google’s benchmark table.
- Before citing headline figures such as “six times smarter,” check the original paper or methodology.
- Verify the original articles before relying on claims about Anthropic’s or OpenAI’s finances and safety.
- Next time, collect posts from X and Bluesky again using LLM-related terms.
Data Quality Notes
X had zero LLM-related posts, no Bluesky posts could be read, and dates and view counts could not be retrieved for any YouTube videos. No Reddit or Lemmy posts dated 10/22 were found either; the focus is on 10/15–10/21.
