Daily App Store Report 2026-09-06

Today, 2026-09-06, all 468 charts were retrieved and can be compared with the previous report on 2026-09-05 across 468/468 charts. The strongest new signal is LightScope, a light meter app, appearing simultaneously in ios-graphics-design/paid across five countries, led by KR #9; runner-up is Reeder., which entered news/grossing in four countries at once.

1. New Entries

All 468 charts were retrieved (0 missing), allowing comparison with all 468/468 charts from the previous report on 2026-09-05. The strongest signal was LightScope - 조도계·노출계 entering ios-graphics-design/paid simultaneously in five countries (KR #9, HR #19, JP #23, DE #33, GB #69). Next, Reeder. entered ios-news/grossing in four countries (HR #8, DE #28, GB #34, US #62), while Blood Sugar Tracker-AI Health (reference/free) and Collart (graphics-design/grossing) also appeared in four countries simultaneously. On individual charts, new #1 entries in HR (The Shelf #1, apeDelay #1) and developer tools in DE (iperf3 #2, systemsoundtest #3) stood out.

2. Sharp Gains Over the Period

The baseline date is 2026-08-24, 13 days ago. It is the oldest collection date in the archive, so note that this does not yet cover a full month. The top 30 gains are concentrated in paid apps in JP and US, while no gains were identified for DE, GB, HR, or KR. The largest was Oblique Strategies SE #8 (+90), followed by Yam Display #15 (+85) and 風水診断 #12 (+84). Among apps absent on the baseline date but now within the top 20, two smart slot titles took paid #1 and #2 in JP games/overall, while US saw 2AM CAM at #1 and MapQuest at #2.

3. By Tier

The top tier was extremely stable at held 84% / new 2% / |Δ| 2.8; the middle tier was 80% / 7% / 7.2, while the bottom tier moved substantially at held 68% / new 20% / |Δ| 10.2. Nearly all new entries flowed into the #51–100 range. Google occupies 101 top-tier slots, making the top ranks highly concentrated.

4. By Country

DE and HR had the most new entries at 1,050 each, while KR had the fewest at 827. US was the most stable in top-10 retention at 87%, while HR was the least stable at 81%. Apps in the top 10 across all six countries included TestFlight (#1 in all six), Duolingo at #1 in education/grossing across all six, Kling AI, and Cursor / Replit. In contrast, strong local signals included Claude Code IDE at KR #6 (+92) and HF Weather Fax at DE #10 (+76).

5. By Category

New entries were most numerous in ios-education (385), ios-utilities (376), and ios-music (351). Retention was strongest in ios-photo-video at 89% and ios-games / ios-graphics-design at 88%, while ios-reference at 78% and ios-utilities / ios-sports at 79% were less stable. ios-shopping was the quietest, with 73 new entries.

Key Findings

1. LightScope enters ios-graphics-design/paid in five countries simultaneously — today's strongest new signal

The light meter and exposure meter app LightScope - 조도계·노출계 (Byungil Park) entered paid Graphics & Design charts in five markets on the same day: KR #9, HR #19, JP #23, DE #33, and GB #69. Unlike an entry in a single market, simultaneous appearances across multiple countries are the earliest sign of new demand gaining traction. Its highest ranking in KR suggests that Korean exposure was the starting point. Its angle as a practical measurement tool for photography and shooting is immediately worth tracking for product ideas.

Confidence: High

2. Reeder. enters News revenue charts in four countries simultaneously (HR #8 is highest)

The RSS reader Reeder. (Silvio Rizzi) entered ios-news/grossing simultaneously at HR #8, DE #28, GB #34, and US #62. Simultaneous entry across countries on monetization charts is more likely to reflect actual revenue traction than a temporary appearance in free rankings. On the same day, reader-focused newcomers also appeared on the paid news side: Lettura #4 in DE, My Daily Brief #2 in JP, and Wallflower - Boring Reader #2 in KR. Together, they can be treated as a cluster of "quiet reading" news apps emerging at once.

Confidence: High

3. AI health trackers and AI image generation each enter four countries simultaneously

Blood Sugar Tracker-AI Health entered ios-reference/free at KR #48, HR #51, US #86, and JP #99, while Collart - AI 영상, AI 이미지 생성 entered ios-graphics-design/grossing at DE #49, JP #58, KR #90, and US #92. Both are in the middle to lower ranking bands, but appearing across four markets on the same day suggests coordinated distribution or advertising. The parallel surge of AI × health and AI × image generation is today's defining structural characteristic.

Confidence: Medium

4. Sharp gains over the period are concentrated in paid apps in JP and US; the other four markets have no qualifying results

All top 30 gains from the baseline date of 2026-08-24 (13 days ago, not yet a full month) were in JP and US. The largest was Oblique Strategies SE at JP productivity/paid #8 (+90), followed by Yam Display #15 (+85), 風水診断 #12 (+84), and cRate Pro #11 (+77). On the US side were Gay Older Men Chat #22 (+77) and HomeBudget with Sync #19 (+72). The market section shows “—” for DE, GB, HR, and KR, meaning that only the paid long tail in JP/US produced sustained rank gains large enough to be extracted during this period.

Confidence: Medium

5. Two smart slot titles monopolize JP's paid #1 spots after being absent on the baseline date

スマスロ とある魔術の禁書目録2 (SUNSOFT) ranked #1 in both JP ios-games/paid and overall/paid, while スマスロ 甲鉄城のカバネリ 海門決戦 (Sammy Networks) ranked #2 in those same two charts. Neither was present on the 2026-08-24 baseline date. This means JP's paid overall top ranks were completely replaced by pachislot machine simulations in 13 days, directly affecting prioritization for JP-focused product planning.

Confidence: High

6. The head is stable while the tail moves: virtually all new entries are in the #51–100 range

top (ranks 1–10, 4,675 slots) remained at held 84%, new 2%, and average movement of 2.8, while bottom (ranks 51–100, 22,528 slots) was held 68%, new 20%, and average movement of 10.2. mid sat between them at 80%, 7%, and 7.2. In other words, nearly all of today's new entries are reshuffles in the lower ranks, while the top 10 is fixed among a small number of developers, with Google alone holding 101 slots. Track the lower band to discover newcomers; track the top tier for established leaders.

Confidence: High

7. US is the most stable market (87% top-10 retention), while HR saw the most churn

Top-10 retention was 87% in US, 84% in DE and JP, 83% in GB, 82% in KR, and 81% in HR. DE and HR had the most new entries at 1,050 each, while KR at 827 and JP at 836 had the fewest. In HR, The Shelf - Reading Tracker and apeDelay both debuted at #1, while Police Lights #2 and Psychologies Magazine #2 concentrated new faces near the top. The smaller HR market has more fluid top slots, making it useful as a leading indicator, though it also carries more noise.

Confidence: High

8. AI coding leaders dominate top developer-tool revenue ranks across all six countries

In ios-developer-tools/grossing, Replit ranked #1 in DE, GB, and US and #2 in HR and KR, while ranking #4 in JP. Cursor ranked #1 in HR and KR, #2 in GB and US, #4 in DE, and #5 in JP. Together, the two share the top positions in all six markets. On the free side, TestFlight is #1 in all six countries. KR also saw Claude Code 및 AI 에이전트용 IDE surge to #6 (+92) in a single day, confirming that AI coding environments have become an established cross-border category.

Confidence: High

9. ios-reference and ios-utilities churn the most, while ios-photo-video is the most static

Top-10 retention was strongest in ios-photo-video at 89%, followed by ios-games and ios-graphics-design at 88%. It was weakest in ios-reference at 78%, and ios-utilities and ios-sports at 79%. ios-education (385), ios-utilities (376), and ios-music (351) had especially high numbers of new entries, while ios-shopping had the fewest at 73. Reference and utility charts reshuffle heavily even at the top, making them promising targets for high-ranking newcomers such as Historical Atlas (KR reference/paid #4) and Morse-It (HR utilities/paid #2).

Confidence: High

10. EA College Football Mobile 27 and MapQuest surge from the baseline date on the US free side

EA College Football Mobile 27 reached US ios-games/free #13 (+75 from the baseline), while MapQuest GPS Navigation & Maps rose from absent on the baseline date to US overall/free #2. Amid gains concentrated in paid apps, these are rare moves in US free and overall charts—the most competitive placements—and can be considered alongside seasonal factors such as the start of the college football season.

Confidence: Medium

Recommended Actions

  • Make LightScope (ios-graphics-design/paid, KR #9 → HR/JP/DE/GB) the highest-priority tracking target. Tomorrow, check whether it holds its KR rank and whether the other four markets rise in response to KR. This is today's only five-market signal, so today is the earliest point to turn it into a product concept.
  • Package news-reader apps into a single feature. Combining Reeder.'s four-country grossing entry (led by HR #8) with Lettura #4 in DE, My Daily Brief #2 in JP, and Wallflower #2 in KR presents a coordinated trend rather than isolated events.
  • JP's paid rankings shifted in 13 days to a structure where two smart slot titles occupy #1 and #2 in both games and overall. Rework the competitive framing for paid-app concepts targeting JP around this machine-simulation segment.
  • Concentrate new-app discovery on the #51–100 range. This band has 20% new entries and average movement of 10.2, whereas the top tier has only 2% new entries and movement of 2.8. It is reasonable to reduce the effort of tracking the top 10 every day to a weekly review.
  • HR has the fastest churn, with 1,050 new entries and 81% top-10 retention, and readily produces high-ranking newcomers (The Shelf #1, apeDelay #1). Review it daily as a leading indicator, but do not publish single-market appearances until they are confirmed in multiple countries.
  • Ask operations to restore the three degraded featured sources for DE/GB/JP. As long as featured data is missing, store-driven promotion outside the rankings cannot be detected, making it impossible to distinguish the cause of simultaneous multi-country entries.
  • As long as the baseline remains 2026-08-24 (13 days ago), the “monthly” heading does not reflect reality. Standardize internal and external wording to “13-day changes” until the archive accumulates 30 days of data.

Data Quality Notes

All 468 target charts were retrieved, with zero missing. All 468/468 charts were comparable with the previous report on 2026-09-05, totaling 45,742 rows. However, there are three limitations. (1) Three sources—DE/featured, GB/featured, and JP/featured—are in a degraded state, so their featured content was not included in today's assessment. (2) Ratings were missing in records totaling 274,353 entries, so no comparisons based on rating scores were made. (3) The monthly baseline date, 2026-08-24, is the oldest collection date in the archive and only 13 days before today. Every reference to “monthly” in the body therefore means changes over 13 days, not a full month of trends. In addition, rows from charts that did not exist in the previous report are not counted as new entries, so new apps cannot be inferred from charts without a comparison. A “—” in the market-level monthly-gain field for DE, GB, HR, and KR means there were no gains large enough to be extracted near the top; it does not prove that nothing moved during the period.
