KEN’S CAT LOG

Daily Fashion News — 2026-10-20

Today feels like layering autumnal tones of brown, cream, and burgundy with wide-leg pants, a long coat, and a touch of ribboned coquette—but the basis is almost entirely Pinterest.

Daily Fashion News — 2026-10-20

Today's mood, in a nutshell, is: “warm autumn tones from brown to cream, with wide-leg pants and a long coat, plus just a little ribbon-cutie energy!” Pinterest turned up 190 images across 19 categories, and the trend was quite clear. Reddit, however, yielded only 12 threads from a one-term search for “Daily Fashion News.” X had almost no fashion-related posts, and YouTube did not yield a single video. So the detailed category-by-category discussion relies on Pinterest. There was no material on any platform to compare changes from the previous day.

Across platforms

There were actually not that many things we could say consistently across multiple places.

  • A move away from all-minimalism, plus brown-toned autumn: In r/women on Reddit (22 points, 2026-10-18), people said that after clean-girl/Scandinavian minimalism, velvet, suede, fur, lace, animal prints, and layering are now “everywhere.” Pinterest was overwhelmingly full of brown, chocolate, cream, burgundy, and camel coats. Both suggest a step beyond “just beige and gray.” https://www.reddit.com/r/women/comments/1x93qmn/
  • Relaxed silhouettes: Reddit had comments that jeans and pants are getting roomier, while Pinterest consistently showed wide-leg pants, rolled-up wide denim, and oversized blazers.
  • Office-leaning outfit rotation: Three r/BusinessFashion threads (blazers with boots, cream cardigans with tan pants, and so on) point in the same direction as Pinterest’s monochrome gray looks and matching sets.
  • A hint of the early 2000s: Reddit’s low-rise jeans, Miss Me-style embellished-pocket denim, and huge bags overlap with Pinterest’s Y2K looks (belted low rises and body chains). But Reddit also had comments saying people would rather avoid low-rise jeans, so opinion was divided.

Platform by platform

Reddit: We read 12 threads. Only about three subreddits—r/women, r/BusinessFashion, and r/Workwear—actually discussed the substance of clothing. In r/Workwear (#8, a CNN article thread), workwear such as chore jackets and cargo pants was said to remain popular in the city, while a former forest ranger commented that they no longer wanted to wear it. In r/femalefashionadvice’s “Fashion news - October 19, 2026,” the discussion was about a succession of designer departures. It was personnel news rather than clothing trends.

X: We reviewed 40 posts, but there was almost no fashion discussion. The search terms used were Explore trend terms (Italy, Paris, $BTC, and so on), and some were Croatian trends. The only things that barely surfaced were news of looting at a Dior store in Paris (@AlertaNews24, 1,662 likes) and talk of street cosplay in Paris; neither offered usable information on color or silhouette.

YouTube: There were zero videos and zero channels. No youtube.com URLs appeared in search results, and the search pages did not return video listings. Instead, we only read FASHIONSNAP’s 26AW (Fall/Winter 2026) roundup as a reference, which cited three keywords: “inheritance and renewal of tradition,” “returning to nature,” and “rethinking silhouettes.” These are not clues from YouTube itself.

Pinterest: Only the gothic-lolita category had zero images (none were collected); the other 19 categories each yielded 10 images. Nearly all girly looks were coquette (pink, lace, corsets, and ruffles); skirt looks featured pleated minis with knee-high boots; and coat/outerwear looks featured camel or cream long coats. However, only 22 images were actually opened; the rest were interpreted from their titles.

What to watch

  1. Brown × cream × burgundy color palette: A chocolate-brown long coat with a pleated mini and knee-high boots (Pinterest #30), and a burgundy bubble-hem mini dress (#14). The source is the pin numbering in output/pinterest.pins.md.
  2. ’90s revival (whimsigoth, grunge): The top comment in the r/women thread (48 points) mentions the return of whimsigoth. https://www.reddit.com/r/women/comments/1x93qmn/
  3. Will workwear remain aspirational, or wear people out?: Those currently wearing it and those who used to wear it saw it in opposite ways. r/Workwear https://www.reddit.com/r/Workwear/comments/1x4gov1/
  4. Coquette (ribbons, pink, plush-toy bags): Pinterest #2 and #5 are representative. Note, though, that many images look AI-generated.
  5. A rush of creative-director changes: r/femalefashionadvice https://www.reddit.com/r/femalefashionadvice/comments/1x9srww/
  6. Interest in sustainable materials and repair: Practical concerns drew more response than trend names (r/women, min_mus’s comment, 30 points).

Recommendations

  1. Rebuild X search terms around category names or terms such as “outfit” and “vintage clothing,” then run it again.
  2. Search Reddit again using category-specific keywords and subreddit filters rather than the single term “Daily Fashion News.”
  3. Run YouTube again after enabling a browser-rendered state or access to the YouTube Data API.
  4. Supplement the gothic-lolita category with dedicated searches.
  5. If you want day-over-day comparisons, collect under the same conditions every day and retain the date and number saved.
  6. For today, it is safest to make recommendations centered on brown-toned monochrome looks, wide-leg pants, and long coats.

Data quality

The usable data is centered on Pinterest, with Reddit serving only as a supplement. X could not be used to identify trends because of a flawed search design, and YouTube did not reach videos. The images/ directory is empty, and the completion requirement of “5 Pinterest images, 2 Reddit images, 3 X images” was not met. On Pinterest, too, only 22 images were opened; out-of-season or irrelevant pins were mixed in, and none had dates. No platform allowed us to describe changes from the previous day.

Reddit

Reddit — Daily Fashion News

As of 2026-10-20. These are the results of reading 12 threads collected by a worker (using only the single search term “Daily Fashion News”). All figures are displayed exactly as shown by Reddit.

What people say
  • #2 “What trends do you like/dislike?” (r/women, 22 points, 19 comments, 2026-10-18)https://www.reddit.com/r/women/comments/1x93qmn/ — The poster writes that things have shifted away from “the clean-girl/Scandinavian minimalism of recent years (beige and gray, simple knits),” and that “velvet, suede, animal prints, faux fur, and lace are everywhere,” alongside “the ’70s × ’90s × modern,” “more layering,” “makeup that is not too perfect,” and “big, undone hair.”
  • The top comment in the same thread (48 points, u/JaneAustinAstronaut) says they like the return of ’90s “whimsigoth” (whimsical, witchy clothing and embellishment). “Honeyed_Snow” (16) writes, “Can we bring back ’90s grunge?”
  • In the same thread, u/Lizakaya (9) says: “I see low-rise jeans all the time. Miss Me-style denim with embellished pockets. Lots of midriff-baring too. Huge bags as well. Very early 2000s.” They also say they like that oversized styles are continuing. u/Specific-Aide9475 (5) welcomes embroidered jeans but would rather avoid low-rise styles.
  • In the same thread, u/min_mus (30) asks: “Why are jeans and pants getting roomier, but pockets are not getting bigger?” The same person (21) wants more sustainable materials (less polyester and acrylic), living with fewer clothes, and wider adoption of repairs and upcycling.
  • In the opening, the poster also mentions the “return of size 0,” and the title calls it the return of a scary trend (#2).
  • #7 Casual Friday (r/BusinessFashion, 106 points, 35 comments, 2026-10-16)https://www.reddit.com/r/BusinessFashion/comments/1x7e8s9/ — A combination of jeans, a button-down shirt, blazer, suede boots, belt, and bag. Comments include “the blazer-and-boots combination is good” (8), “the popped collar and buckle are lovely” (11), and a wish for a Celine-style belt (3).
  • #9 (r/BusinessFashion, 276 points, 14 comments, 2026-10-15)https://www.reddit.com/r/BusinessFashion/comments/1x6on7h/ — Five workweek outfits centered on Zara and H&M. The “straight skirt and blouse combination” was praised (3).
  • #11 (r/BusinessFashion, 93 points, 12 comments, 2026-10-14)https://www.reddit.com/r/BusinessFashion/comments/1x5tf66/ — A “cream cardigan × tan pants” combination was well received (4 each), as were the shoes (3).
  • #8 CNN, “Why do people want to wear clothes for jobs they do not have?” (r/Workwear, 11 points, 7 comments, 2026-10-12)https://www.reddit.com/r/Workwear/comments/1x4gov1/ — An article saying that workwear such as chore jackets, cargo pants, and heavy-duty boots continues to be popular in the city. A former forest ranger’s comment (4) says: “The day after I retired, I put all my earth-tone Filson, White’s, and Carhartt on eBay; now I wear sneakers and activewear such as Lululemon and Vuori,” adding, “It is strange that so many men want to wear clothes I was made to wear for 30 years.”
  • #3 and #5 Watch news (r/Watches, 210 / 230 points, 2026-10-13 / 10-14)https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/comments/1x4y2co/ https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/comments/1x5saee/ — Accessory news. The Timex × Pan Am GMT, a green Seiko Marinemaster, new Ralph Lauren releases, and more. In #5’s comments, the most-upvoted remark says “Ralph Lauren really captures the wealthy crowd dressing up like Western cowboys” (40), while several comments say the prices are too high.
  • #1 Fashion news - October 19, 2026 (r/femalefashionadvice, 2 points, 2 comments, 2026-10-19)https://www.reddit.com/r/femalefashionadvice/comments/1x9srww/ — The only comment (2) says: “Vaccarello, McGirr, Leoni, and supposedly PPP too—designers are leaving one after another. There is also the turmoil around Ghesquière.” The topic is creative-director turnover rather than clothing trends.
Signals
  • Rising: A swing back from all-minimalism. Velvet, suede, fur, lace, animal prints, the ’90s (grunge, whimsigoth), layering, and relaxed silhouettes (#2). At the same time, there are early-2000s signals such as low-rise and embroidered denim (#2).
  • Continuing: Workwear (#8). Office-leaning mix-and-match outfits such as blazers + boots and cardigans + pants (#7, #11).
  • Where opinion was divided: The poster says this year is more fun because there are more options than in minimalism, while the same thread includes comments pleading against low-rise jeans. Workwear also pulls in opposite directions: former workers say, “I do not want to wear it anymore,” while the article says people continue to aspire to it (#8).
  • Unexpected: Readers responded more to practical concerns such as sustainable materials, repairs, and pocket size than to trend names (#2).
  • Caution: Although they were retrieved under “Daily Fashion News,” #4 (job hunting), #10 (a dating reality show), and #6 and #12 (comments consisting only of “Sexy” and “Hot”) offer almost no clues about trends.
Limits
  • The search used only the single term “Daily Fashion News.” It did not search category names (Y2K, gothic-lolita, Korean fashion, denim, and so on), so Reddit-side mentions were not collected for most of the 20 categories. Kawaii styles, dresses, skirts (apart from #9’s straight skirt), girly styles, gothic-lolita styles, Y2K styles (apart from #2’s low-rise), streetwear, Korean fashion, vintage/secondhand styles, matching sets, bohemian styles, mode/high fashion (apart from #1’s designer changes), and shoes/bags (apart from #2’s huge bags and #7’s boots) were effectively in a “not collected” state.
  • The images/ directory is empty, and not a single image was collected during this Reddit stage. The completion requirement of two Reddit images per category was not achieved.
  • Only roughly the top six comments from each thread were reviewed. #6 and #12 appear to be image posts without body text, but the image contents could not be checked.
  • Most threads are from one to several days ago, leaving no material to compare changes from the previous day.
  • Because Reddit rejects WebFetch and search-routed pages, no additional research was conducted independently.

X

X — Daily Fashion News

Here is the conclusion first. Of the 40 posts collected from X this time, almost none were about fashion. This is because the terms used by the worker for searching were not fashion terms, but words shown in X’s “Explore (Trending)” section (Italy / Paris / Europe / Christian / Cardano / Macron / $BTC / Smart / Weeknd / Michigan). For none of the 20 categories (from kawaii styles through shoes and bags) were posts obtained from which color, silhouette, material, or accessories could be identified. The image directory (images/) was also empty.

Where the trends came from

Explore trends are shown according to the server-side location. This list mixed terms labeled by X as “Trending in Croatia” (Paris / $BTC / Smart / Weeknd) with location-unspecified “Politics · Trending,” “Sports · Trending,” and “Business & finance · Trending” terms (Italy / Europe / Christian / Macron / Michigan / Cardano). They are not trends for Japan or the world as a whole. None of the 10 terms belonged to a fashion category, and the post-count display was “—” for every one (source: the opening table in output/x.posts.md).

Accounts

No accounts primarily posting about fashion were found. Notable accounts were as follows.

  • Accounts with major breakout posts: @theweeknd (59,876 likes, one post from Hong Kong), @BandalosSC (32,828 likes, “image of the day” in Paris), @GizmoMemes (50,580 likes across two posts, Macron-related memes), @iv4penter (13,861 likes).
  • News and politics: @MarioNawfal (three posts, 5,738 likes total), @visegrad24, @RubinReport, @AlertaNews24.
  • Accounts with several small posts: @rewind02 (two posts, AI production tutorials), @UMichFootball (two posts, college football).
  • Crypto-related: @cryptodramz, @LagyADA, @Nadalina04, @BitGo, and others. Likes were modest, ranging from 2 to 22 each.
Posts

Only posts that mentioned or tangentially touched on fashion are listed below.

  1. #14 @AlertaNews24 (1,662 likes · 432 reposts · 36 replies, approximately 154,000 views, 2026-10-17)
    https://x.com/AlertaNews24/status/2111553979281023308
“NOW: A Christian Dior store was looted on Saint-Honoré Street in Paris.” This was the only post to mention both a specific brand name and a Paris store. However, it was news about looting, not clothing trends.
  2. #8 @MarioNawfal (673 likes · 100 reposts · 49 replies, approximately 78,000 views, 2026-10-18)
    https://x.com/MarioNawfal/status/2111819588631404586
“I've seen Goku, Piccolo, Luffy, and now Darth Vader. The streets of Paris have turned into a Fortnite lobby.” The post says that people in cosplay were on the streets of Paris. It comes close to being about streetwear, but no clothing details can be discerned.
  3. #6 @BandalosSC (32,828 likes · 7,379 reposts · 245 replies, approximately 657,000 views, 2026-10-18)
    https://x.com/BandalosSC/status/2111862175010553928
“The image of the day in Paris.” The text is only one line, and I was unable to verify the image content (the image file was not collected).
  4. #7 @men29625 (374 likes, approximately 3,700 views, 2026-10-19)
    https://x.com/men29625/status/2112283060813324552
“Paul Forman as Nicolas De Leon - Emily In Paris 5x07.” This post shows a scene from the drama, and the text does not discuss costumes.
  5. #33 @theweeknd (59,876 likes · 4,393 reposts · 478 replies, approximately 1,700,000 views, 2026-10-17)
    https://x.com/theweeknd/status/2111432872880160984
The post says only “HONG KONG.” It includes an image, but no accompanying text discusses clothing.

The other 35 posts concerned Ukraine–Russia developments, demonstrations in Milan, Macron-related topics, F1, Bitcoin, AI production techniques, college football, and other subjects unrelated to fashion.

Signals
  • Trends by genre (all 20 genres): no material was gathered. The target on X was three images × 20 genres = 60 images, but there is no indication that genre-related terms were searched, and there are no image files either.
  • Paris was a topic of conversation, but the content was not fashion; it mainly consisted of news about looting, demonstrations, and cosplay. It may be worth noting that even when a brand name appears, as with the looting of the Dior store (#14), it appears in a news context.
  • X did not provide enough basis to summarize “today’s mood” in three to five lines. All that can be inferred is that X’s trending section today was filled with topics other than fashion.
Limits
  • The search terms did not match the theme: All 10 terms used were Explore trend terms; no fashion-oriented terms (genre names, “outfit,” “vintage clothing,” “today’s outfit,” etc.) were searched. The X results cannot be used for this theme unless the search is rerun with terms redesigned by genre.
  • Explore location: Trends originating in Croatia were mixed in, so they are not representative of Japanese fashion trends.
  • Images: images/ is empty. Although many posts included images, their contents were not viewed. This remains unverified for posts such as “#6 Paris image of the day.”
  • Scope of the tally: There were 40 posts from 35 accounts, dated 2026-10-17 through 19. The number of posts (Posts on X) could not be obtained.
  • The completion requirement of “X: 3 images × 20 genres” was not met. This was not because there were no fashion posts on X, but because the collection design was not suited to the task.

YouTube

YouTube — Daily Fashion News (2026-10-20)

Specific data on YouTube videos and channels (titles, view counts, posting dates, and subscriber counts) could not be obtained. The reasons are listed in ## Limits. No video or channel names have been invented.

Channels

Could not be obtained. Not a single YouTube channel page appeared in the search results.

Videos

Could not be obtained (0 videos). No YouTube videos could be opened and verified at this stage.

Signals

These are not clues from YouTube itself. They are major trends for the current season (Fall/Winter 2026) that could be read on pages other than YouTube. They are included as reference material for inferring topics that videos might cover.

Limits
  • Searches using site:youtube.com were performed once each in Japanese and English, but the results consisted entirely of media articles from WWDJAPAN, FASHIONSNAP, Coveteur, Bustle, and others; not a single youtube.com URL was returned.
  • https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=… was opened twice (once with a Japanese query and once with an English query). Neither returned a video list; only footer links were returned. Titles, channels, view counts, and posting dates could not be read.
  • Video descriptions and comments could not be read because no videos could be reached.
  • For these reasons, videos from the past 60 days, view counts, and subscriber counts could not be compared. The process could be rerun with a browser-rendered state or a data source such as the YouTube Data API.
  • The completion requirements (collecting 5 Pinterest images, 2 Reddit images, and 3 X images) belong to the stages for other platforms. The YouTube stage does not handle images.

Pinterest

Pinterest — Daily Fashion News (2026-10-20)

A total of 190 images across 19 genres were gathered (10 per genre). Gothic/Lolita yielded 0 images—it was not collected.
Twenty-two representative images were actually opened and checked; the rest were interpreted from pin titles (details in ## Limits).
Pin numbers are the sequential numbers in output/pinterest.pins.md.

Visual themes
  • Brown-to-chocolate with cream autumn tones dominate. Long coats, pleated minis, knee-high boots, and leather bags are often styled entirely in brown.[22, 30, 80, 117, 156, 175, 180, 100]
  • Burgundy/wine is a key color. The same shade appears in both dresses and gymwear.[11, 14, 138]
  • Mini lengths plus volume: bubble hems, tiered denim skirts, and pleated minis. Footwear is knee-high boots or platform sneakers with fluffy socks/leg warmers.[14, 2, 22, 30, 106, 80]
  • Ribbons, coquette styling, and pink dominate the cute/girly look. Ribbon camisoles, ruffled corset dresses, fluffy leg warmers, Sanrio-style T-shirts, and bags with plush toys.[2, 5, 42, 41, 44, 48, 50]
  • Wide-leg pants plus polished styling: monochrome gray sets, pleated gray trousers with sneakers, and brown wide-leg pants (the same silhouette also appears in bohemian looks).[81, 95, 141, 156, 75, 78]
  • Layering creates a sense of warmth through knitwear plus checked scarves, stripes, and mixed materials.[117, 120, 127, 148]
  • Black-and-gold accessories, mini handbags, and shoulder bags are the standard finishing touches.[188, 185, 187, 190, 2, 22]
  • Basic “baggy pants × black hoodie” streetwear and the near-universal wide rolled-up denim look.[64, 68, 78]
Notable pins
  • #2 🎀 Pink & White Coquette Outfit Aesthetic — A textbook example of “current cute,” with a tiered denim mini, pink cardigan, ribbons, and a plush-toy bag all included.
  • #5 coquette outfit — A collage-style presentation of Sanrio-style T-shirts, pink satin skirts, ribbon leg warmers, and more. The accessory choices are directly useful as references.
  • #14 Chic Burgundy Bubble Hem Mini Dress — A wine-colored bubble hem. The most “right now” silhouette among today’s dresses.
  • #11 Chic Evening Vibes: Brown Dress & Wine — A chocolate-brown A-line midi. An autumn-evening presentation paired with a wine glass.
  • #30 Chocolate Brown Fall Outfit With Long Coat, Mini Skirt and Knee High Boots — Brown from head to toe, with a mini skirt and long boots. The ideal formula for autumn skirt looks.
  • #81 7 Minimal Outfits That Look Custom-Made — A roundup displaying seven outfits alongside their accessories. It also includes color charts for beige, black, brown, and olive, making it useful as reference material.
  • #141 25 Classy Matching Set Outfits — An oversized gray blazer with wide-leg pants in the same shade. Matching a single tone is the current approach.
  • #164 Quiet Luxury Meets Sculptural Couture — Wide pants with large protruding black and beige panels. In fashion-forward looks, the colors stay minimal while the silhouette does the work.
  • #176 Quiet Luxury Winter Fit 🤎 Camel Coat + All-Black Look — A camel long double-breasted coat with black wide-leg pants. This outerwear silhouette is right at the center of the trend.
  • #127 Thrifted Aesthetic Outfits — A flat lay of a vintage-style sun-print T-shirt, striped knitwear, double-knee denim, and gum-sole sneakers. A reference guide to vintage-style accessories.
Signals

Trends by genre (the magazine-style article text is intended for the integration stage, so these are simply notes on what is visible here):

  • Kawaii: Pink × white, ribbons, tiered minis, and fluffy socks. Images #2/#5 have been checked. #3, #4, #7, and #10 have no titles and remain unverified.
  • Dresses: Brown, wine-colored, and minimal black dresses. Lengths split between midis and bubble minis. #13 and #15 are home-interior articles rather than dresses and are therefore out of scope.
  • Skirts: Pleated minis (brown, gray, and check) with knitwear and knee-high boots. Many also layer on coats.
  • One-piece dresses: The content leans summery. Linen midis, long button-front shirt dresses, and florals. #32 is summer in southern France, #36 is Sydney, #31 is summer uniform-inspired, #34 is a sewing pattern, and #37 is a hair-color article, so they do not match the autumn mood.
  • Girly: Almost all 10 images are coquette (pink, lace, corsets, and ruffles). #41, #42, #44, #48, and #50 are at its core.
  • Y2K: A mint graphic T-shirt, belted low-rise denim, and a body chain (#56). #58 is a winter layered version.
  • Streetwear: Black oversized hoodies, distressed baggy denim, and branded bags (#64, #68, #69).
  • Korean fashion: Cream knitwear, mini pleated skirts, suede blousons, white loafers with slouchy socks (#80, #71, #76). There are also minimal looks with wide-leg pants (#75, #78). #73 is a Halloween costume and is out of scope.
  • Minimal/polished: Beige, black, gray, brown, and olive. Loafers, gold accessories, and mini shoulder bags. #81 is representative.
  • Office casual: Gray wide-leg pants with a black knit and Converse (#95). #98 is “mom jeans plus flats.” #94 is a kitchen-storage article and is out of scope.
  • Denim: A coordinated-set-style look of a denim jacket, denim mini, and beige suede boots (#106). #103 is an Amazon shopping list and weak as clothing content. #107 is a men’s washed set.
  • Knitwear/layering: A brown mohair knit with a checked scarf (#117), a menswear-leaning outfit paired with wide beige slacks.
  • Vintage/thrift: Striped knitwear, double-knee carpenter denim, work jackets, and gum-sole sneakers (#127). #126’s “hippie summer” and #129’s Y2K × bohemian look lean summery.
  • Athleisure: Black flared leggings with a burgundy zip-up (#138). #132 is Amazon-neutral, and #140 is a gray sweatshirt with black leggings. #137 has a spring-oriented title, making it seasonally mismatched.
  • Matching sets: An oversized gray blazer with wide-leg pants (#141). There is also a lounge set in #149. #142 is a pin containing only a store name.
  • Bohemian: A beige linen top, chocolate-brown wide-leg pants, a basket bag, and a wooden-bead necklace (#156).
  • Fashion-forward/high fashion: Black-and-ecru panel pants (#164), avant-garde eveningwear (#167), and Jacquemus’s autumn campaign (#166).
  • Coats/outerwear: A camel double-breasted long coat (#176), a cream long coat with brown wide-leg pants (#180), trenches, and wool jackets.
  • Shoes/bags: Black suede pointed pumps, black mini handbags with gold heels or gold hardware (#188), and beige designer bags (#185).

What stands out overall / what is nearly absent:

  • Prominent: Brown tones, cream, wine/burgundy, wide-leg pants, long coats, pleated mini lengths, and ribbons.
  • Nearly absent: Vivid colors (red, blue, yellow), bold prints, and Gothic/Lolita black ruffles. Pink is concentrated exclusively in girly/kawaii looks.
  • Difference from the previous day: This data has no dates, so it cannot be compared with pins from one day earlier. It is not possible to describe an atmosphere that “changed since yesterday” (Pinterest moves slowly to begin with because it is based on saves).
Limits
  • 0 Gothic Lolita images. There is no section for this genre in the pinned table, and no images either (the files go from g01–g05 directly to g07). Treat this as “no images were collected.”
  • Only 22 images were actually opened (#2, #5, #11, #14, #22, #30, #39, #42, #56, #64, #80, #81, #95, #106, #117, #127, #138, #141, #156, #164, #176, #188). The remaining 168 images were reviewed only by title, and many untitled pins were not checked. Descriptions for each genre include inferences based on the opened images and their titles.
  • Difference from the completion criteria: The completion criteria specify “5 Pinterest images,” but 10 images were collected for each genre. Not all of them are used; representative examples are cited.
  • Irrelevant and out-of-season pins are mixed in: home interiors/kitchens (#13, #15, #94), hair color (#37), sewing patterns (#34), Halloween (#73), shopping lists (#103), and summer/spring-oriented content (#32, #36, #126, #137). These were excluded as evidence for trends.
  • No dates: Pin post dates and save counts were not collected, so it cannot be determined whether something is “trending today.” This only reviews the top Pinterest search results as they are.
  • Many appear to be AI-generated or images from roundup articles (#2, #42, #81, etc.). Note that these are curated presentations rather than actual street snapshots.

Recommended Actions

  • Rebuild and rerun X searches using fashion-specific terms such as genre names, “outfit,” and “vintage clothing.”
