Daily Viral Video — 2026-09-18
Today's buzz was not a single video shared across every social network. YouTube was led by official music videos and gaming streams; Bluesky by unedited raw clips; Reddit by discussion of videos that had gone viral elsewhere; Lemmy by delayed reposts; and X had zero verifiable viral videos. It was a day when the form of virality differed completely by platform.
Today's Viral Videos — 2026-09-18
In short, this was not a day when you could point to one video and say, “This is the viral video of September 18, 2026!” Every platform looked entirely different: on YouTube, polished content such as official music videos and game streams dominated the charts; on Bluesky, raw, unedited clips were strong; Reddit was a venue for discussion about viral videos rather than the videos themselves; Lemmy was where videos that had already taken off elsewhere were reposted half a day to a day later; and on X, it was not possible to construct a video-focused search, so viral videos themselves could not be verified. In other words, “going viral” meant something so different on each platform that comparing them side by side produced a fragmented picture.
Across platforms
- There is fertile ground for political and social content everywhere: On Reddit (an Indian religious-conflict video, 548 comments), X (Israel-related memes dominated the top likes), and Bluesky (political criticism clips went viral alongside animal “wow” videos), controversial topics—not the quality of the video itself—were the main driver of growth on at least three platforms.
- A second wave of “buzz about viral videos” appeared across multiple platforms. On Reddit, actor Aaron Pierre reacting to his own viral acting clip became a new topic; on YouTube, derivative analysis and commentary videos piggybacked on M!LK’s new music video; on Lemmy, reposting videos that went viral elsewhere after the fact is itself a standard format. You cannot understand the full picture of virality by looking only at the original video; you also have to include the reaction content that emerges around it.
- Many social networks do not provide video-view counts: Bluesky and Lemmy have no view-count API, while Reddit merely links to videos circulated elsewhere, so the original figures are unavailable. YouTube was effectively the only platform with usable view figures, and X ended with “zero verifiable viral videos” this time. The one pattern that can be stated today is that YouTube dominates buzz backed by hard numbers, while every other platform is driven by buzz that spreads more through atmosphere than metrics.
Platform by platform
Reddit: Twelve threads were collected from 12 different subreddits, but none embedded the video itself; they merely treated videos that had gone viral elsewhere—on X, television, or in paparazzi footage—as topics of discussion. The strongest threads were an Indian religious-conflict video (548 comments) and a nostalgia thread asking “What was the most viral video in history?” (499 comments). Controversy and nostalgia were stronger than simple “look at this” posts. No view or like count for the viral videos themselves was available; only Reddit scores and comment counts served as metrics.
X: This time, 40 posts were collected from Explore trend names such as Africa, Israel, and Zagreb, but this was not a video-focused search—it was simply a snapshot of broadly trending topics as seen from Croatia. The most-liked post was a joke by @Keegan59992745 (151,965 likes), but it was not even possible to verify whether it was a video or a photo. As a result, there were zero viral videos verifiably confirmed on X. This is the largest data gap in today’s report.
YouTube: Since YouTube’s official Trending page was discontinued last year, the findings were cross-checked using two third-party aggregation sites. Today’s leading items were official MVs such as Sakurazaka46’s “Ai MUST BE” (about 1 million views in less than a day) and M!LK’s “Jikū Koete Universe” (about 13.98 million views), plus Kiyo.’s stream of “I Want to Agree to the Terms of Service” (about 1.56 million views, now spreading to other streamers). There were few of the classic “shocking footage” viral hits. Of the five platforms, YouTube was the only one that came close to filling 10 entries with numerical data.
Bluesky: The search API returned 403 across the board today, while the official video-trending feed failed with a 502. Instead, nine videos were collected from the Discover feed, falling short of the 10-item completion criterion. A video by @jonathanslater with only the caption “This is bullshit” received 4,248 likes—the highest figure in this survey. It shows a structure where content can go viral simply based on who posts it, even with no explanation of what is in the clip. Animal and nature “wow” clips, retro-mechanism clips, and political clips made up the top tier.
Lemmy: Lemmy is not really a place where videos explode on the spot; it is a place where communities such as !«メールアドレス» pick up videos that have already gone viral on Reddit or X half a day to a day later. Today’s top posts were a challenge video about extracting a mandarin from a glass of water (score 210) and a video about a banned-book library in Syria (score 215), both mirrored to imgchest by the poster Ajuy. The list stopped at eight entries rather than 10, and since no view or share API exists, only score and comment count could be used.

Recommendations
- For video concepts, use platform-specific approaches that are almost opposites: compete on YouTube with a polished, carefully produced piece like an official MV or game stream, while leaning into the raw immediacy of unedited footage and one-line captions on platforms such as Bluesky and Lemmy.
- After publishing an original video, build in a plan to release a second wave of piggyback content—analysis, commentary, and reactions—either yourself or through related parties. As the M!LK and Aaron Pierre examples show, this can create two stages of growth.
- Political and social-controversy videos are likely to grow, but they also carry a high backlash risk. Brand accounts should either deliberately avoid them or closely gauge the temperature of the response before acting.
- X’s Explore feed was Croatia-based this time, and no video-specific search could be built. Retry monitoring “videos going viral on X” after preparing video-focused search keywords in advance.
- Because both Bluesky’s search API and video-trending feed were down today, shift operations away from search-dependent monitoring and toward collection through recommendation feeds such as Discover.
- If posting video to Lemmy, an imgchest mirror format like the one used by Ajuy is more likely to perform in the !videos community than a direct YouTube link.
Data quality
Only YouTube effectively met the completion criterion of 10 items per network with links, posters, and figures. X ended with zero verified viral videos because Explore was not video-specific and it was impossible to distinguish video from photo content, making it the largest data gap of the day. Bluesky (search API 403, video-trending feed 502, stopping at nine items) and Lemmy (stopping at eight items versus a 10-item criterion, with no view or share API at all) both relied on incomplete data collected through alternate routes. Reddit produced 12 items, but they were almost entirely discussions about videos rather than videos themselves, with no original-video view or like figures obtained in any case.

No subreddit is dedicated to "viral videos" as a beat — the theme surfaced as a side topic inside general (r/AskReddit), platform-specific (r/youtube, r/NewTubers), fandom (r/dcu, r/fireemblem), and Indian pop-culture/reality-TV (r/BollywoodMusic, r/biggboss, r/splitsvillaMTV, r/TeenIndia, r/20sIndiaReal) communities.
What people say
- Thread #5 (r/sportsgossips, 113 points, 349 comments, 2026-09-16) — a video of Bill Belichick "gone viral on Social Media" turned into a pile-on about his appearance, not football: top comment (168 pts) is just "I'll go first," followed by u/tiny-2727 (76 pts): "He reminds me of Meatloaf in the fight club." https://www.reddit.com/r/sportsgossips/comments/1wi3kuw/
- Thread #3 (r/dcu, 3,103 points, 69 comments, 2026-09-14) — actor Aaron Pierre publicly acknowledged the viral clip of his accent slipping mid-scene; top comment (174 pts) from u/CyanaMoss: "Yes bruv, that's our Jon Stewart right there." The actor engaging with his own clip is treated as feeding the virality further. https://www.reddit.com/r/dcu/comments/1wfzqes/
- Thread #6 (r/20sIndiaReal, 909 points, 548 comments, 2026-09-11) — a video of a "Hindutva Aunty" confronting people over vegetarianism went viral and split into a communal argument; u/PookieHoneyBee (72 pts): "She called the Police and herself got arrested"; u/Huge_Lawfulness_8166 (7 pts) dismisses the pile-on: "the Muslim and Christian bots are running wild with this one event lmao." https://www.reddit.com/r/20sIndiaReal/comments/1wdoleh/
- Thread #10 (r/TeenIndia, 376 points, 36 comments, 2026-09-16) — a "heart-wrenching" video (framed around child marriage) went viral and pulled the comments into a serious feminism/child-marriage debate rather than reactions to the clip itself; top comment (55 pts) from u/Material-Maximum3518: "Bacche baccho ko paal rahe hai 😭 ghor kaliyug yaar 🥀." https://www.reddit.com/r/TeenIndia/comments/1whrqxn/
- Thread #2 (r/BollywoodMusic, 370 points, 37 comments, 2026-09-14) — a remade Bollywood song video "getting viral on X" split opinion: u/Ankit-Porwal-004 (43 pts): "Sunidhi nailed the remake," versus u/Aditen (68 pts): "it does feel very secondary to the original." https://www.reddit.com/r/BollywoodMusic/comments/1wg9gbq/
- Thread #7 (r/splitsvillaMTV, 27 points, 10 comments, 2026-09-17) — a paparazzi ("pap") clip of the cast surfaced randomly; u/Used-Potential_2905 (16 pts): "paps are ak paglu and in mtv vaalo ko thoda bachke rehna chahiye 😂😂" — fans treat paparazzi footage of reality stars as its own viral micro-genre. https://www.reddit.com/r/splitsvillaMTV/comments/1wiy3ua/
- Thread #9 (r/OnlineReviewFraud, 5 points, 1 comment, 2026-09-12) — a pizzeria (Enzo's Brick Oven Pizza) went viral for clapping back at a negative review that called out its AI-generated food photos; only comment (1 pt) from u/My_user_name_1 notes AI food photography predates this controversy. https://www.reddit.com/r/OnlineReviewFraud/comments/1wecwm4/
- Thread #11 (r/biggboss, 22 points, 15 comments, 2026-09-14) — fans are angry that a clip they consider viral-worthy wasn't aired on the show itself, suspecting favoritism; u/eeebaek820 (8 pts): "I think they want to get Rohed out because he's not doing much. That's why those specific 3 were picked." https://www.reddit.com/r/biggboss/comments/1wgbjl8/
- Thread #8 (r/fireemblem, 268 points, 26 comments, 2026-09-17) — an official Nintendo Today double video drop (conversation + combat clips) is being dissected shot-by-shot by the fandom; u/Dauntless_Lasagna (56 pts): "SHE STILL HAS THE CREST OF ERNEST." https://www.reddit.com/r/fireemblem/comments/1wikzvq/
- Thread #4 (r/youtube, 1,240 points, 499 comments, 2026-09-12) — a "YouTube Hall of Fame" thread crowdsourcing history's most iconic viral videos: top answer (345 pts, u/OkTell1701) lists Kane Pixels' Backrooms and the Flex Tape ad; other top replies name Chocolate Rain, Gangnam Style, Charlie Bit My Finger, and Rickroll — Redditors' own canon of "what counts as viral." https://www.reddit.com/r/youtube/comments/1wemfcv/
- Thread #1 (r/AskReddit, 44 points, 111 comments, 2026-09-17) — not about a specific video, but the word "viral" itself: "games that went viral but quickly died out," top answer (132 pts, u/srL-): "Among Us? A lot of 'viral' games are this way, I feel." Shows Reddit treating virality as inherently short-lived.
- Thread #12 (r/NewTubers, 1 point, 7 comments, 2026-09-11) — a small creator's first video spiked to 35.9k impressions while the second got only 150; u/CoarseEffectiveness (4 pts): "first video got lucky with the algorithm, second one is what normal looks like for new channels honestly" — the creator-side view of an algorithmic viral spike. https://www.reddit.com/r/NewTubers/comments/1wdfckp/
Signals
- Rising: virality tied to controversy and identity politics gets by far the largest engagement here — the Hindutva Aunty thread (548 comments) and the YouTube Hall of Fame nostalgia thread (499 comments) dwarf every other thread's comment count.
- Rising: meta-virality — the subject of a viral clip (Aaron Pierre) publicly reacting to it — is itself treated as a fresh viral beat, not just a footnote.
- Dismissed: r/AskReddit and r/NewTubers both frame single viral spikes as noise or short-lived rather than meaningful signal — "a lot of 'viral' games are this way" and "150 impressions is a tiny sample... it's noise."
- Disagreement: the BollywoodMusic remake thread splits almost evenly between "nailed it" and "feels secondary to the original," a genuine quality debate rather than consensus hype.
- Surprise: none of the 12 threads is itself a "look at this viral video" post with embedded video, view count, and like count the way the brief hopes to find — Reddit here almost entirely relays or reacts to videos hosted elsewhere (X, YouTube, TV broadcasts, paparazzi feeds) rather than hosting or measuring them directly.
Limits
- The two Japanese search terms (バズってる動画, 話題の動画) did not surface any Japanese-language subreddit or Japanese-context thread — they returned English-language niche threads (r/youtube, r/fireemblem, r/NewTubers) instead. No Japanese Reddit community appears in this collection at all.
- None of the 12 threads contain an actual external video link with its own view/like counts — only Reddit's own score and comment-count numbers are available, per the collector's rule to quote only Reddit's own numbers. So "再生数・いいね数" for the underlying videos could not be reported for any of the 10+ items the brief asks for; only Reddit engagement numbers are given above.
- Only 5 of the 12 threads fall inside the brief's 24–48 hour window (2026-09-16 or 2026-09-17: #1, #5, #7, #8, #10); the rest (#2, #3, #4, #6, #9, #11, #12) are older (2026-09-11 through 2026-09-14) and are reported for context, not as "today's" viral videos.
- Coverage is one thread per subreddit across 12 different subreddits — breadth without depth, so it is unlikely this captures the single biggest Reddit-side viral-video story of the day if it lives in a subreddit not searched here.
- No thread here is itself the primary source of a viral video (i.e., a Reddit-native viral video) — every case is Reddit discussing a video that went viral on another platform (X, TV, YouTube) or in person (paparazzi).

Accounts
Every one of the 40 collected posts comes from a different account (1 post each, per output/x.posts.md's Accounts table) — this is a snapshot of 40 one-off high performers surfaced by keyword search, not a small set of creators driving a beat. No account here is a repeat "viral video" poster; none post more than once in this collection.
The heaviest single-post accounts by likes:
- @Keegan59992745 ("keegan") — 151,965 likes on one post (found via "Israel")
- @FabrizioRomano (verified sports journalist, "Fabrizio Romano") — 43,466 likes on one post (found via "Zagreb")
- @Captian_Loden_4 ("Loden ☭") — 48,433 likes on one post (found via "Israel")
- @LeeLovesBey ("tyrant ☆▷") — 41,803 likes on one post (found via "Israel")
- @sihwawife ("miel⚢") — 37,001 likes on one post (found via "Israel")
- @TicTocTick ("emini tic") — 16,843 likes on one post (found via "Africa")
- @lost_in_nassau ("SHAKIBERTO") — 10,175 likes on one post (found via "Ed Sheeran")
At the opposite end, several accounts (@BDreamz37398, @ToniaCryptoKiss, @SMCADMAN, @Ibrahin2024, @watchguard) got 0–2 likes on their single post — mostly crypto/betting-tip or hashtag-stuffed accounts posting into a trend with no traction.

Signals
- Rising: Israel-related posts dominate the top of the engagement table — 4 of the 5 highest-liked posts in the whole collection (#38, #37, #40, plus #24/#36 not listed above) were found under the "Israel" search term, all meme/opinion formats rather than news.
- Dismissed / low-traction: the crypto trends ($JubJub, Zcash) and the #CyberSecurity hashtag produced almost entirely single-digit-to-low-hundreds-like posts — several read as coordinated shill or hashtag-stuffing (#13, #16, #27, #31, #32) with no real audience response, e.g. @Ibrahin2024's #CyberSecurity hashtag-stuffed post got 1 like on ~11 views.
- Surprise: none of X's own top-10 Explore trends (Africa, Serbia, Zcash, $JubJub, Canada, Ed Sheeran, Zagreb, #CyberSecurity, Russia, Israel) is entertainment or video-content-shaped — they are entirely geopolitics, a football/music controversy, and crypto tickers. Nothing in this list points at a specific viral video.
- Surprise: across all 40 posts, only one (#7, @AleksaFlamingo, 43 likes) even mentions video content by name, and it's a "vlog" whose actual video lives on YouTube, not X — see Limits.
Limits
- Explore is geolocated to Croatia, per
output/x.posts.md: "Trending in Croatia" / "Politics · Trending" entries all came from a session reaching X from that location. This is one country's trending list, not a global or Japan-specific one, and is reported as such. - The 10 search terms were X's own Explore trend names (Africa, Serbia, Zcash, $JubJub, Canada, Ed Sheeran, Zagreb, #CyberSecurity, Russia, Israel) — none of them were video-specific search terms (no equivalent of "went viral" / "viral clip" / バズってる動画 was run against X in this collection). So this data is a general snapshot of what's trending on X in this 24–48 hour window, not a search curated for videos.
- The collector only flags
hasPhoto(35 of 40 posts), with no separate flag for video vs. photo/GIF. Without being able to open the links myself (X shows anonymous readers nothing, per the playbook), I cannot confirm from this data which, if any, of the 40 posts actually contain a video rather than a photo or plain text. - Because of the above, I cannot verify a single confirmed "viral video" on X in this collection, let alone the 10 the brief asks for. What's listed above is X's most-engaged trending discourse in the window, not verified video content — this stage falls short of the brief's completion criteria and that gap should be treated as this platform's real limit, not filled in with a guess.

YouTube — Today's Viral Videos (2026-09-18)
YouTube’s “Trending” page was discontinued in July 2025, so this report uses snapshots from two API-linked trending trackers—Digital Creators and Buzzweet—as of the morning of September 18, 2026, then independently checked each video’s actual URL, view count, and publication date. Rather than one-off “shocking footage” virality, official MVs, collaboration videos, and gaming streams dominated the day’s rapid growth.

Netflix Japan
Netflix Japan / 2026-09-17
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LF5h6XX0no
Signals
Limits
https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=...
Bluesky
Bluesky — Today's Viral Videos
Accounts
Bluesky does have accounts specializing in viral videos (viralhub.bsky.social, viralvideos.bsky.social, and so on), but searches showed that their latest posts were from 2023–2024 and they had been completely abandoned. What is going viral now is not content from accounts chasing virality, but individual accounts with sizeable followings posting clips one after another.
- @lucagalletti.bsky.social — Posts several daily “wow” videos of funny animal behavior, retro mechanisms, and craftsmanship. On September 17 alone, the account made at least eight video posts, each reliably reaching hundreds to nearly 3,000 likes. The heaviest poster in this collection.
- @jonathanslater.bsky.social — Reposts videos with only a one-line caption such as “So cool” or “This is bullshit.” The genres vary widely, from politics to inexplicable footage, but two clips surpassed 4,000 likes—the strongest hitmaker in this sample.
- @sorry-iamcanadian.bsky.social — An account reposting Canadian news and culture clips. TIFF-related videos were the growth driver this time.
Posts
All were posted on 2026-09-17—the day before September 18, within 24 hours—and appeared near the top of Bluesky’s Discover (What's Hot) algorithmic feed. Bluesky does not return view counts through its API, so the figures are likes and reposts only (see Limits).
- @sorry-iamcanadian.bsky.social — A video of Helen Mirren answering a question at TIFF (the Toronto International Film Festival) about what in Canadian culture is worth protecting; original source is Instagram @rozann. 2,909 likes and 749 reposts (posted 17:10). French with English subtitles.
- @jonathanslater.bsky.social — Captioned only “These are the people who should make millions.” The clip itself is not explained, but it was the most viral video in this survey, with 4,248 likes and 755 reposts. Posted 19:38.
- @jonathanslater.bsky.social — Caption: “This is bullshit.” 4,212 likes and 610 reposts. It was posted at 10:54, the earliest time of day among these entries, but appears to have continued growing throughout the day.
- @lucagalletti.bsky.social — Captioned “Catching dinner ‘on the fly,’” showing a bird or similar animal catching prey while flying. 2,868 likes and 520 reposts (posted 13:03).
- @lucagalletti.bsky.social — A video of an old “Union” table saw powered by foot pedal and hand crank, without electricity. 1,699 likes and 277 reposts (posted 13:00).
- @lucagalletti.bsky.social — An emu wobbling along as though it does not know where its own legs are going (#emuzoomies). 1,210 likes and 184 reposts (posted 21:58).
- @lucagalletti.bsky.social — A cinnamon tabby cat said to resemble Adam Driver or Barbra Streisand. 681 likes and 67 reposts (posted 13:42).
- @jonathanslater.bsky.social — A video captioned only “Winnie. For you.” 588 likes and 57 reposts (posted 12:24).
- @lucagalletti.bsky.social — A 1920s French electric automaton, made by J.A.F, in motion. 453 likes and 64 reposts (posted 15:31).
Signals
- The viral-video format on Bluesky is not TikTok-style heavily edited shorts, but raw footage reposted as-is with a one-line caption. In cases like @jonathanslater’s, videos with no explanation of what is shown still exceed 4,000 likes, suggesting that success depends less on the content than on who posts it and whether it appears in the timeline.
- Three genres accounted for the top posts: (1) animal and nature “wow” clips, such as the emu and bird hunt; (2) retro craft and mechanical clips; and (3) political and culture-related clips, such as Helen Mirren and political criticism. Unlike other social networks, political video readily enters the “viral video” category because Bluesky’s user base is particularly engaged with politics and current affairs.
- Accounts with “viral” in their names, such as viralhub and viralvideos, are almost uniformly abandoned. The genre of mass-producing accounts dedicated to viral videos has not really taken hold; virality seems to depend on individual followings plus the Discover algorithmic feed.
Limits
- Keyword search was entirely unavailable: The public API endpoint
app.bsky.feed.searchPostswas queried with multiple terms, including “viral video,” “went viral,” “viral,” “cat,” and “バズってる動画,” but every query returned HTTP 403 Forbidden. At this time, the API could not be searched externally. - The bsky.app web interface is a JavaScript-rendered SPA. Fetching search-result, profile, and hashtag pages (
/hashtag/viral) returned only the page shell, not content. Several third-party Bluesky viewers available without login were also tried, but none offered a URL for keyword search. - Bluesky’s official Video (video trending) feed (
thevids) returned HTTP 502 on each of five API access attempts. The platform’s dedicated video-trending route was unavailable during this collection. - Instead, videos were collected through algorithmic recommendation feeds—“Discover (What's Hot),” “What's Hot Classic,” and “Popular With Friends”—plus direct getAuthorFeed requests for accounts that appeared there. This is therefore not a comprehensive keyword search of everything going viral across Bluesky; it is a view of video posts that surfaced in algorithmic recommendation feeds today.
- Bluesky’s public API returns like, repost, and reply counts but not view counts, so growth in views could not be verified; likes and reposts were used instead.
- The two @jonathanslater posts with 4,248 and 4,212 likes had no alt text, and their captions were only a few words such as “This is bullshit,” so the specific content shown in the videos could not be identified. Only the figures and captions are reported.
- For these reasons, the list contains only nine videos, below the 10-item criterion in brief.md. Given that search routes were blocked, this was effectively the limit of what could be collected through algorithmic feeds.
Lemmy
Lemmy — Today's Viral Videos (2026-09-18)
Lemmy feels less like a place where videos suddenly go viral and more like a place that slowly picks up and reposts videos that have already gone viral on Reddit or Twitter. Since it provides neither view nor share counts, score (upvotes) and comment count are used as rough indicators of response strength.
Communities
18,724 members. A video-focused community with rules banning political topics and clickbait titles. The main source for this collection.
2,911 members (1,873 local). It exists, but had zero top posts in the past 24 hours, making it quiet today.
Zero TopDay posts (the search API returned an empty array; it may be declining or effectively dead).
The same X post about censorship of the Latin American dub of Ghost in the Shell was cross-posted across three instances, with scores of 1–22.

Signals
- On Lemmy, “going viral” does not mean an explosive increase in numbers. Instead, clips already viral on other platforms—Twitter/imgchest clips and YouTube excerpts—arrive half a day to a day later. Today’s top two posts, the mandarin video and Syria library video, were both mirrored to imgchest.com by the same poster, Ajuy. This has become a standard !videos format, likely because it loads more lightly and embeds more smoothly than direct YouTube links.
- Political and current-affairs clips—Joe Rogan, Trump × Jensen Huang, Wall Street × fast food—are more likely to earn comments, with discussion growing more than entertainment content.
- The AI meme-video trend about connecting a fly’s brain to Minecraft and similar systems, which is being discussed on other platforms, circulated on Lemmy as links to explanatory articles rather than the video itself. It was reposted across several technical-community instances, but scores were uniformly low.
Limits
- The list did not reach 10 items. Lemmy had few videos meeting the criterion of rapidly rising in 24–48 hours: two posts exceeded 200 score, while the rest stopped in the single digits or tens. Padding the list with low-response posts would make it inaccurate to call them viral, so only eight credible items are included.
- Lemmy has no API for view or share counts. “Response” here means only upvote score and comment count, which cannot be directly compared with views on other networks.
- lemm.ee redirected to join-lemmy.org and could not be searched; it may have effectively closed or moved.
- !«メールアドレス» and !«メールアドレス» both exist, but had zero posts in the previous 24 hours (the search API returned empty arrays), so neither contributed to this report.
- The programming.dev post containing the Joe Rogan clip returned 403 to direct fetches, so the poster’s name could not be confirmed.
Recommended actions
- Use a polished, carefully produced piece for YouTube, such as an official MV or gaming stream, while using unedited material and one-line captions for Bluesky and Lemmy—tailoring nearly opposite creative approaches to each platform.
- Seed a second wave of piggyback content, such as analysis, commentary, and reactions, after publishing an original video; this makes two-stage growth more likely.
- Political and social-controversy videos are easy to grow but carry a high backlash risk, so brand communications should assess them carefully.
- Monitoring viral video on X needs to be redesigned with video-focused search keywords prepared in advance, since relying on Explore was insufficient this time.
- Because Bluesky’s search API and video-trending feed are both unstable, make collection through recommendation feeds such as Discover the standard route.
- For sharing video on Lemmy, the imgchest mirror format is more likely to grow within the !videos community than a direct YouTube link.
Data quality notes
Only YouTube met the completion criterion of 10 items per social network. X had zero confirmed viral videos; Bluesky had nine because its search API returned 403 and its video-trending feed returned 502; Lemmy had eight; and Reddit did not obtain original-video view or like counts for a single item.
