Daily Viral Videos — 2026-09-25

YouTube was the biggest epicenter today, driven by coverage of Typhoon No. 25 damage at Inba-numa in Chiba and professional baseball/MLB highlights. On X, Bluesky, and Lemmy, political and news clips—as well as X's “Opus 5.5” AI video-generation demos—were gaining traction across platforms. On Reddit, the fallout from videos, such as disciplinary action and arrests, was more of a topic than the videos themselves.

Daily Viral Video Roundup — 2026-09-25

YouTube was today's biggest “epicenter.” News footage of the levee breach at Inba-numa in Chiba caused by Typhoon No. 25 was drawing anywhere from hundreds of thousands to 1.28 million views, followed by pro baseball and MLB highlights such as Kenta Maeda's first shutout in 12 years and Shohei Ohtani's hit in his first at-bat back. X, Bluesky, and Lemmy had a somewhat different focus: political and news clips (around Trump, a controversial Nations League celebration, and the KPMG gym-argument video controversy) were collecting likes and upvotes. On X, AI video-generation and editing demos using “Opus 5.5” also surged all at once on the same day, forming a clearly visible new cluster. Reddit stood apart: the consequences triggered by videos—disciplinary action and arrests—were attracting more attention than the videos themselves.

Across platforms

  • Political and news clips are strong: On X (a controversial Nations League goal celebration, remarks by Serbia's president, news footage involving Iran), Bluesky (Trump-related posts and British politicians' gaffes or odd gestures), and Lemmy (a video of Trump's portrait being swapped), and even on Reddit, which is not primarily video-focused, news threads ranked highly. Political and current-events content was more likely to go viral today than entertainment.
  • The pattern of “a viral video directly leading to real-world discipline or arrest” is becoming a shared topic across multiple platforms: The case of KPMG manager Yuen Lee being placed on leave after a gym-argument video spread was covered on both Reddit and Lemmy—one of the few examples of the same news item independently becoming a topic on multiple social networks.
  • AI-generated video and videos suspected of being AI-generated are one of the main themes: On X, video-generation and editing demos using “Opus 5.5” formed a cluster through posts from eight accounts on the same day (in a positive context). On Bluesky, meanwhile, posts asked, “Isn't this AI slop?” (in a skeptical context). Attention toward videos involving AI itself is high across platforms.
  • Wariness of clipping and loss of context: Across several platforms, including Reddit (where the KPMG clip was criticized as a “weaponized selectively edited clip”) and Bluesky (where the person behind an earlier viral clip reposted it as “Here's the full original,” gaining further traction), there were reactions and corrections aimed at videos stripped of context.

Platform by platform

Reddit: Large pop-culture subreddits (r/Fauxmoi, r/popculturechat) and India-based news subreddits (r/IndiaTodayLIVE, r/bihar) were the main hubs. What stood out today was not the videos themselves but the “results caused by the videos,” with the KPMG manager's leave and an arrest in Jamui, Bihar earning points. However, almost no threads included the original video link along with view or like counts (Instagram Reels/TikTok/YouTube), so they did not meet the format requested by the brief.

X: AI video-generation and editing demos using “Opus 5.5” were posted in a concentrated burst by eight accounts on the same day, making this the easiest trend to explain today. Another cluster consisted of Nations League match clips and controversial celebration footage. However, Explore trends were locally skewed toward Croatia, where this session was connected, so they should not be treated as definitively global viral trends. The largest individual gain (42,788 likes) was a Taylor Swift gossip post unrelated to the AI-video cluster.

YouTube: Coverage of the Typhoon No. 25 levee breach at Inba-numa in Chiba was the biggest epicenter of today's viral videos. TBS NEWS DIG, ANNnewsCH, and KTV NEWS covered the same scene from different angles, and all reached tens of thousands to 1.28 million views. Pro baseball (Kenta Maeda's first shutout in 12 years) and MLB (Shohei Ohtani's first-at-bat hit after returning) highlights also reached the hundreds of thousands on the day of publication. Search-results and Trending pages were blocked by consent screens and bot detection, though, so an alternative route through web search was used; no Shorts-related viral video could be substantiated this time.

Bluesky: Political clips (Trump-related posts and British politicians' gaffes or odd gestures) were overwhelmingly strong, with native MP4 posts tending to outperform link-only posts. Posts covering the aftermath, explanations, or commentary after a video went viral also stood out more than the viral videos themselves (a dog account's explanation, a baseball player's clarification of a misunderstanding, and so on). Almost no Japanese-language content was found; the only Japanese-language item with concrete figures was a rabbit threat-display video with 2.8 million views, via Netorabo.

Lemmy: There is no specialist community for “today's viral videos,” so !«メールアドレス» and !«メールアドレス» were reviewed manually. Newsworthy or political whistleblowing/exposé-style clips (firefighters, data centers, a Meta employee disclosure, political drama) dominated, and many videos were reposted from imgchest.com with unclear sources. The threshold for “viral” is considerably lower than on other social networks (a few dozen to a few hundred upvotes counts as top-tier), and only 6 of 10 videos could confidently be said to be within the last 24–48 hours.

What to watch

  • Follow-up coverage of the KPMG manager being placed on leave (Reddit / Lemmy) — https://www.reddit.com/r/Fauxmoi/comments/1wnakr2/ — A case in which a widely shared gym-argument video directly led to real disciplinary action; it could spread further depending on legal and public-opinion developments.
  • The “Opus 5.5” AI video-generation cluster (X) — https://x.com/NFT_Chen/status/2102681172367323300 — AI video-production demos, including code2video and Blender integration, gained traction in a concentrated burst on the same day and may become a recurring topic among creators.
  • Coverage of Typhoon No. 25 damage at Inba-numa in Chiba (YouTube) — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUjG3-KRHmc — With 9 deaths, 4 people missing, and damage estimated at roughly ¥1 billion, this is an ongoing disaster; view counts are likely to rise with each new update.
  • Controversial goal celebration in the Nations League match between Austria and Israel (X) — https://x.com/IrishPropaganda/status/2103224075007275254 — As politically charged sports footage, it may continue to provoke controversy and spread.
  • Trump portrait-swap video (Lemmy) — https://lemmy.world/post/52328311 — It began gaining traction just two hours after posting; watch for spillover to other platforms.
  • cwebbonline.com's “full version” post (Bluesky) — https://bsky.app/profile/cwebbonline.com/post/3mw7oj2e6522t — The sequence of a clipped video going viral followed by the subject posting the full version gained the most traction this time. Watch whether similar post-clipping correction patterns emerge around other viral videos.

Recommendations

  • Continue tracking the tendency for AI video-generation demos such as “Opus 5.5” to rapidly form clusters on X, especially in creator and marketing contexts.
  • Because coverage of ongoing disasters such as Typhoon No. 25 grows especially strongly on YouTube, prepare related content around the timing of follow-up reports.
  • Since a pattern in which clipped videos lead to real-world consequences, including disciplinary action and arrests, has been observed across multiple platforms, take care to avoid loss-of-context risks when creating and sharing clips.
  • Political-clip popularity originating on Bluesky is likely skewed toward users with a strong political/news interest; account for that bias when using it as a reference for non-political content strategies.
  • Japanese-language viral-video information is barely surfaced on Bluesky or Lemmy, so prioritize YouTube and Reddit (Japanese-language subreddits) when tracking Japanese-language trends.
  • In the next survey, secure a way to access YouTube search results and Trending pages (such as an authenticated session or alternate route) to substantiate Shorts-related viral trends.

Data quality

Reddit met almost none of the completion criteria of “video link, poster, and view/like counts”; original-video views were known for only 1 of 12 threads. X relied on trend terms from Explore, so it includes local bias from the session's connection point in Croatia. YouTube search-results and Trending pages were blocked, requiring an alternate route; Shorts-format viral videos could not be substantiated. Bluesky video view counts could not be retrieved via its API, so assessments relied only on like and repost counts, and Japanese-language content was nearly absent. Lemmy has no specialist community, and its manually cross-community review was not comprehensive; only 6 of 10 posts could confidently be identified as being within the last 24–48 hours.

What people say
  • Thread 2 (r/Fauxmoi, 5,490 points, 2026-09-22): KPMG manager Yuen Lee was placed on leave by her company the same day after Bill Ackman shared a selectively edited video of an argument in a gym. The poster criticized it as a “weaponized selectively edited clip.” The top comment (u/VulcanIRL, 1,534 points) reads, “I hate Bill Ackman so much dude.” https://www.reddit.com/r/Fauxmoi/comments/1wnakr2/
  • Thread 7 (r/IndiaTodayLIVE, 273 points, 2026-09-22): News that Nandan Yadav, the alleged ringleader in an assault on a minor in Jamui, Bihar, was arrested after a shootout with police following the spread of a video of the attack. An example of a video spreading directly leading to an actual arrest. https://www.reddit.com/r/IndiaTodayLIVE/comments/1wn5bts/
  • Thread 6 (r/IndiaTodayLIVE, 131 points, 2026-09-21): The original video thread that sparked the above case. In the comments, u/UniqueAd8864 (3 points) noted, “Just a reminder that this only came to light cause it was recorded,” emphasizing that the incident came to light because it was recorded and shared. https://www.reddit.com/r/IndiaTodayLIVE/comments/1wm7j5u/
  • Thread 12 (r/bihar, 64 points, 2026-09-21): A “citizen investigation” thread related to the same case, in which Reddit users attempted to identify the vehicle by analyzing the license plate in the 480th frame of the video. u/White_beast8966 (4 points) even estimated the car model: “This is a Toyota Rumion...1-2 month old car.” https://www.reddit.com/r/bihar/comments/1wm50b6/
  • Thread 3 (r/DC_Cinematic, 1,899 points, 2026-09-19): Aaron Pierre's pronunciation slip (“speak up”) in the film Lanterns went viral, and his reaction to it drew further attention. u/Fuzzy_Ant_6447 (251 points) observed that “the fandom has kind of rallied around enjoying his slips rather than insulting him.” https://www.reddit.com/r/DC_Cinematic/comments/1wkdrxe/
  • Thread 8 (r/cdramasfans, 291 points, 2026-09-23): A group of iQIYI's new trailers sparked debate on Weibo over their abundance of kissing and bed scenes. Responding to claims that they were riding on the success of Early Spring, u/Nefertitiedges (13 points) suggested, “Someone put all the intimate scenes in one so it looks extra,” raising the possibility that editing made them look more provocative. https://www.reddit.com/r/cdramasfans/comments/1wo0nl4/
  • Thread 10 (r/newsokunomoral, 25 points, 2026-09-22): Reactions to a report that anti-China and Japan-praise YouTube videos are being mass-produced through outsourced scripts costing ¥1,500 each, with one reaching 450,000 views. u/iwanamin (7 points) complained, “My parents keep watching nothing but videos like this, and it's way too unpleasant.” https://www.reddit.com/r/newsokunomoral/comments/1wnq4tt/
  • Thread 5 (r/popculturechat, 538 points, 2026-09-23): Robert Pattinson mentioning “Potter Puppet Pals” and “Charlie the Unicorn” as favorite YouTube videos during promotion for a show became a topic of conversation. An example of 2000s meme videos being rediscovered rather than a new video going viral. https://www.reddit.com/r/popculturechat/comments/1wns7na/
  • Thread 11 (r/memeculturetechnology, 5 points, 2026-09-24): A thread in which someone could not remember the title of a fancam/dance video by NCT Dream's Haechan that had gone viral in the past. u/giantd0d0 answered with a YouTube link. The memory of “what was that song?” became more of a topic than the moment it went viral. https://www.reddit.com/r/memeculturetechnology/comments/1wpcx7i/
  • Thread 1 (r/indiadiscussion, 4 points, 2026-09-24): A meta thread analyzing why “videos of foreigners praising India” go viral. u/Low_Plum5234 (4 points) bluntly commented, “1.4 billion audience, a lot of attention and money.” https://www.reddit.com/r/indiadiscussion/comments/1wpf990/
  • Thread 4 (r/ElectroBOOM, 1,132 points, 2026-09-22): There is no detailed description beyond the title “Fucking crazy video,” but high-voltage comments such as u/DSTNCMDLR's “ride the lighting” suggest an electrical stunt video went viral. https://www.reddit.com/r/ElectroBOOM/comments/1wnoimu/
Signals
  • Rising: Two cases in which viral videos directly led to real-world discipline or arrest (Yuen Lee being placed on leave in the Ackman/KPMG case, and the Jamui arrest in Bihar). On Reddit, references to the consequences caused by videos are earning more points than the videos themselves.
  • Rising: Criticism of clipping and removal of context is a shared theme across several threads (the “selectively edited clip” in Thread 2 and suspicions of “out of context” editing in Thread 8). Skepticism that a viral video necessarily represents accurate context is the dominant tone in the comments.
  • Dismissed / backlash: Mass-produced viral videos built around prewritten scripts, such as the anti-China and Japan-praise genre in Thread 10, are almost entirely rejected in the comments, with users even mentioning concrete rejection behavior such as selecting “Don't recommend.”
  • Surprising: Many “viral” videos were not new, but old videos being resurfaced or rediscovered (Potter Puppet Pals/Charlie the Unicorn in Thread 5 and Haechan's earlier dance video in Thread 11). “Remember and reshare” stood out more than brand-new viral moments from today or this week.
  • Mixed response: Regarding the same Jamui, Bihar incident, Thread 6 positively frames sharing as the reason the case came to light, while Thread 7's comments (u/vinieux, 10 points) focus on cynicism about political exploitation after the arrest. Views differ on the effect of video sharing itself.
  • Noise: Thread 9 in r/MonsterHunter matched the search term “バズってる動画,” but it was a discussion of an in-game move demonstration video and unrelated to actual “today's viral videos.”
Limits
  • Of the 12 collected threads, almost none clearly point to a single video while providing the link, poster, and view/like counts together. Reddit scores and comment counts are available, but only Thread 10 (“450,000 views”) stated the original video's own view or like counts on platforms such as Instagram Reels, TikTok, or YouTube. The required format of “link to the video itself, views, and likes” could not be met.
  • Dates range from 2026-09-19 to 09-24, so several threads fall outside the brief's requested 24–48-hour window (especially Thread 3, from roughly six days earlier on 09-19).
  • Some threads returned by searches for “バズってる動画” and “話題の動画” (such as r/MonsterHunter) were search noise rather than discussions of viral videos in context.
  • This stage could not browse Reddit itself, so original videos mentioned within threads (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, etc.) were not opened. View and like figures are limited to what workers found in the post text and comments.

  • AI-video cluster (one post each, concentrated on the same day): Eight accounts—@developedbyed, @seiiiiiiiiiiru, @aicreataro, @onofumi_AI, @ponzponz15, @kevin_t_ngo, @shinshin86, and @NFT_Chen—each posted video-generation or editing demos using “Opus 5.5” on the same day. Individual figures range from hundreds to thousands of likes, but together they form a trend.
  • Accounts posting repeatedly without traction: @kelvinoyibo2 (3 posts, 406 likes total; repeated NFT promotion) and @Nadalina04 (3 posts, 8 likes total; formulaic $SONG/$ADA posts). They are posting volume, but engagement per post is extremely low—spam-like repetition.

Taylor saw that clarke was getting praised for whooping his ass and deleted that story real quick
The largest individual figure among the 40 collected posts. A Taylor Swift-related gossip post that matched the search term “Taylor.” The text does not establish whether it is video or a screenshot (see Limits), but its exceptional growth is recorded.

Signals
  • What's rising: AI video-generation and editing demos using “Opus 5.5” (Claude Opus 5.5) were posted in a concentrated burst on the same day by Japanese- and English-language creators. “Opus 5.5” also appeared as a standalone Explore trend, and eight posts—#5, #7, #8, #33, #34, #36, #35 (@shinshin86), and #6 (@seiiiiiiiiiiru)—formed this cluster. Even where individual figures are mid-sized, collectively this is the clearest movement today for explaining why something is going viral.
  • Another cluster: Nations League match clips, goal footage, and controversial celebration footage—such as #37 from IrishPropaganda—are gaining traction in both sports and political contexts.
  • Passed over / treated as spam: $SONG/$ADA/NFT posts from @Nadalina04, @kelvinoyibo2, and others are formulaic repetition riding Explore trend terms (Cardano, NFTs). Likes are mostly in the single digits to tens. They are frequent, but not genuinely viral.
  • Surprising: Four of the top ten Explore items ($song / Opus 5.5 / Croats / Croatia) were all labeled “Trending in Croatia,” strongly reflecting this session's location (Croatia). This should be treated as a locally visible trend picture rather than global video virality.
  • The largest figures are outside the video cluster: The largest individual post (42,788 likes / approximately 430,000 views) was the gossip post found via the “Taylor” search term (#13), unrelated to the AI-video cluster. The post text alone cannot determine whether it is video or a screenshot.
Limits
  • Explore's trend list is geographically tied to this session's connection point, Croatia, rather than representing worldwide trends. Read every item labeled “Trending in Croatia” with that premise in mind.
  • Search terms were not video-specific queries such as “viral video”; instead, the ten trend terms surfaced by Explore ($song, Opus 5.5, Serbia, Taylor, Cardano, Croats, Croatia, NFTs, Claude, Israel) were used directly. Videos not associated with these keywords are therefore not visible in this collection.
  • The collection data distinguishes media presence only as “has an image,” not video from still images. Video classification above is based on post text and context; posts such as #13 and #26 that cannot be confirmed are clearly noted as such.
  • The completion criterion of “10 posts per social network” is not met when restricted only to posts clearly involving video. After excluding crypto/NFT spam and text-only political posts, the practical ceiling is 10–11 posts, so 11 entries are included, including some whose video status is uncertain.

Signals
  • Typhoon No. 25—the levee breach at Inba-numa in Chiba—was today's largest source of viral YouTube videos. News channels including ANNnewsCH, TBS NEWS DIG, and KTV NEWS covered the same scene from different angles, with each reaching tens of thousands to 1.28 million views. Videos that put figures in their headlines, such as “levee breach,” “X deaths,” “¥X billion in damage,” or “X months until service resumes,” appeared to gain more views.
  • Sports videos are strong when they package an immediate highlight after time away: “an immediate impact after returning” (Shohei Ohtani) or “a feat for the first time in X years” (Kenta Maeda's first shutout in 12 years). They are uploaded within hours to half a day after a game ends and can reach hundreds of thousands of views very quickly.
  • For breaking-news videos, views tend to accumulate faster when less time has passed since the incident. Videos involving live broadcasts or aerial footage are especially likely to grow.
  • Controversial influencer videos gain more views in the Japanese-language sphere through clips from news programs covering them than through the influencer's original posts themselves, which are in other languages.
Limits
  • YouTube search-results pages (youtube.com/results?...) and the Trending page (youtube.com/feed/trending) were all blocked by consent screens or bot detection, preventing HTML retrieval. Rather than directly collecting videos from YouTube results, an alternate route was used: candidate URLs were found through web search, and individual video pages were checked for views through a reader proxy.
  • These constraints mean today's viral videos were not collected exhaustively. Searches were narrowed to categories such as idols/VTubers, animal/comedy Shorts, and new-game gameplay, but no specific videos with substantiated rapid growth and view counts within the previous 24–48 hours could be found. Headline-level topics were confirmed on social media—for example, a member of Warai Meshi appearing in WEST.'s apology image, or the latest episode of The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity being praised as a standout—but the corresponding YouTube videos and view counts could not be identified, so they were omitted.
  • The “Shohei Ohtani returns after 14 games” video from SPOTV NOW returned a 401 error twice, and its view count was only obtained on the third attempt. Several candidate videos were abandoned for the same reason; for example, v=8E7tYqwXzAk displayed as private and could not be examined.
  • As a result, the fewer than ten videos collected are skewed toward breaking news and professional baseball/MLB highlights. No Shorts-format viral video could be substantiated. The brief's requirement to cover both short and long video formats was therefore met only on the long-form side (news and highlights).

Bluesky — Viral Video Roundup for Today (2026/9/23–25)

Using Bluesky's official search API (public.api.bsky.app / api.bsky.app, app.bsky.feed.searchPosts) with sort=top + since=2026-09-23, the posts that were actually gaining traction were collected. On Bluesky, native video posts (embedded MP4s) coexist with posts linking to videos on YouTube, Instagram, or X and asking, “Have you seen this?”

Shares news, via Netorabo, that a video of a rabbit whose expression changed after its food was just ten minutes late went viral with 2.8 million views. Reaction on Bluesky itself is small, but this was the most concrete Japanese-language “viral video” item found.

Signals
  • The videos receiving the most likes on Bluesky are overwhelmingly political clips (Trump-related content and British politicians' gaffes or odd gestures). The user base appears skewed toward people interested in news and politics.
  • Native posts (embedded MP4s) tend to earn more likes and reposts than posts that only link to YouTube or Instagram (#1, #2, #3, #5, and #7 are embedded-MP4 posts dominating the upper ranks).
  • There is notable activity around posting the aftermath, explanation, or analysis of viral videos rather than the videos themselves (#4, #5, #6, #8, #9). Bluesky appears to function as a place to discuss and explain things that first went viral on X, TikTok, or Instagram.
  • The absolute volume of Japanese-language content is very low. Searches for “viral videos” and “trending videos” returned a mixture of train videos, adult content, and news-article shares; #10 was essentially the only pure Japanese-language post about a video going viral today.
Limits
  • Bluesky's official search screen (bsky.app/search) is a JavaScript-rendered SPA, and its contents were empty when retrieved through WebFetch/r.jina.ai. Public API endpoints (api.bsky.app searchPosts / getPostThread) were used instead.
  • The public.api.bsky.app host consistently returned 403 Forbidden, while the host without public. worked initially but later began intermittently returning 403 errors (likely rate limiting). Additional searches for a San Francisco Giants “stroller spectator” video, related panic-disorder video terms, and others were abandoned.
  • Attempting to inspect Bluesky's official video feed (thevids) through getFeed returned 502 Bad Gateway, so trends in Bluesky's own video tab could not be checked.
  • For #6 and #9, search results showed minor figure discrepancies for the same post under different wording, so a range or approximate figures are provided.
  • Bluesky's API does not expose video view counts. Assessment relies on likes, reposts, and replies; view counts where available, as in #10, come from the source article (Netorabo).

A case in which a female KPMG manager was fired after billionaire Bill Ackman spread a video of a gym argument. It was also reported by the BBC and other media (the original video originated on TikTok/X; Lemmy only reposted a news article about it).

  8. "He played too much GTA V" — !«メールアドレス», 3 days ago, 135↑, 25 comments.
A gaming-related mishap video. It falls outside the 48-hour window but is included as a reference example of one that continues to grow within the community.

Signals
  • Videos that go “viral” on Lemmy are not naturally emerging viral short videos in the TikTok or X sense. They are mainly newsworthy or political 1–3 minute whistleblowing/exposé clips—about firefighters, data centers, Meta employee disclosures, political drama, and similar topics.
  • Many video hosts are reposted MP4s on cdn.imgchest.com rather than direct original sources. Cases where the original platform is unclear are common, perhaps to obscure copyright origins or sources on TikTok/X, or to avoid embedding restrictions.
  • The same poster, Ajuy, has multiple top-scoring posts across both !videos and !crazyfuckingvideos, indicating that Lemmy virality is strongly supported by continued posting from a small number of power users.
  • The “fly brain simulation” meme (such as running a fly neural circuit in Minecraft) was also mentioned in Lemmy's technology communities as a technical viral topic that had continued since early September, but it was not a new post from the previous 24–48 hours and interest had cooled.
  • Overall, Lemmy.world's threshold for “viral” is considerably lower than other social networks; a few dozen to 200 upvotes can count as top-tier.
Limits
  • Lemmy has no community dedicated to collecting “today's viral videos,” so relevant communities such as !videos and !crazyfuckingvideos had to be searched manually across communities. Of the target of ten videos, only the six above numbered 1–6 can confidently be said to fall within the last 24–48 hours. Numbers 7 and 8 are included for reference because they are older than 48 hours or are reposted international-news items different in nature from domestic viral content.
  • The lemmy.ml search UI (/search?q=...) and lemm.ee search did not return the expected API responses (lemm.ee redirected to join-lemmy.org), so no useful results could be obtained from those two instances.
  • Searches using Japanese keywords (“バズってる動画” / “話題の動画”) found no results on Lemmy. Lemmy is an English-language-centered fediverse, and Japanese communities and posts were almost entirely absent.
  • General-interest communities that also allow non-video content, such as !interestingasfuck and !damnthatsinteresting, were excluded because their top posts today were images/photos rather than videos (!damnthatsinteresting returned a server error when accessed directly).
  • Overall, Lemmy is considerably smaller and slower-moving than major social networks such as Reddit, X, YouTube, and Bluesky. Few videos can confidently be described as having grown rapidly within 24–48 hours; that is the conclusion of this Lemmy survey.

Recommended actions

  • Continue tracking the tendency for AI video-generation demos such as “Opus 5.5” to rapidly form clusters on X in creator and marketing contexts.
  • In the next survey, secure a way to access YouTube search results and Trending pages to substantiate Shorts-related viral trends.

Data quality notes

Reddit could scarcely obtain original-video view and like counts and did not meet the completion criteria. YouTube relied on an alternate route because search and Trending pages were blocked, so Shorts-related virality could not be substantiated. Bluesky lacks view counts in its API, so alternative metrics—likes and reposts—were used. Lemmy lacks specialist communities, resulting in low coverage.
